If you're performing Shakespeare for a bunch of chimpanzees and they just like to watch it when you swing your arms around and yell I think that's a justifiable reason to stop.

I'm reading Titus Andronicus right now.

That shit is not high culture.

No, most of his stuff isn't

he was an ancient sitcom writer, basically

Achewood has an extremely subtle sense of humor. I don't feel like it has ever had a straightforward joke, you're just not going to find a punchline in the entire thing.

first off, its NJ so its already gone.

second off, the unit still uses the same amount of energy regardless of what I set it to, it just closes a valve to limit the amount of heat that gets to me if I lower it.

third off, whatcha gonna do? call captain planet on me?

I don't know what to say. I honestly do not like Achewood outside of one or two strips that were shown to me. I can understand the "well, you need to read it from the beginning to appreciate it" perspective but I really don't want to invest the time.

These comics that keep getting shown, though, just aren't funny on their own. Not to me. So maybe they are funny in the entire context of the strip, but they do absolutely nothing for me as a person who hasn't read the strip.

I would honestly rather read Moon Over June where I can at least see someone sticking golf clubs in someone else's vagina.

You know how you have a group of friends (or in Ludious's case, you know how on television the main character often has a group of friends) and you all make jokes and have conversations that amuse you but there's not really any punchline and someone who isn't your friend might not get it? Sometimes, Achewood is like that.
