I can no longer attend the con this year due to finances, but I'd still love the coins. How should we go about adding on the shipping costs, if that's possible?

I would suggest emailing Karma directly. You'll have to work it out with him, but at least you managed to realize it before shipping occured.

    He messaged me. Thank you!

If you're coming to the post-pax protomen concert, I'm going to be there too, so that's also a possibility ;)

    Oh, good idea!

I just figured with your financial issues it might make sense, if you're doing it rather than pay for moar shipping :)

Coin lunch RSVPS are closed. I will entertain additions for 3 days with a commitment to donate $10 to child's play. Come Monday Night, well, that's all. End game.

Total is twenty. On Tuesday, I will b me making phone calls.

I'm honestly only allowing the extra days to be greedy for child's play. For once, I feel good about that :)

So, beg and plead, and it won't work. Honest problems like Ironysparkles contact us, and we'll all be reasonable.

Omeganauts, I think you have your schedule now, so please let me know ASAP what it looks like- same for enforcers, although enforcers may not have their schedules yet. :)

What's this cigar gathering I heard about? I didn't RSVP for the lunch because I'm not sure of my schedule yet.

The First Annual PAX Cigar Gathering is planned for 2 AM Friday night/Saturday morning, right outside the convention center, after the concerts end. The relevant thread is here, which I will be updating with a map very shortly.

Note that times/dates are subject to change based on weather reports, so I'd make sure to check the thread a couple days before PAX to make sure that's still the plan.

Although I won't be able to make it, should I mention the Coin Lunch as something people should bring their Trading Cards to?

There are at least two of the will-call volunteers who are in BYOC, so we should be able to set something up for you.

PAX does not open until friday, so absolutely not on thursday.

Friday morning I can not promise- I'm doing the pokecrawl, and that tends to be devastating to early-morning predictability. :)

Yeah, there's badge pickup in the lobby on Thursday, but that's about it - no loading in until Friday morning. That being said, I'll be downtown at some point on Thursday to pick up BYOC badges as well, so if you want them then, I can hook you up.

Okay, now that all orders are closed, and last call has gone out, and all of that..

I have three coins available for direct proceed to Child's Play. I may end up with more- a few are being reserved to handle any.. issues.. that come up.

As I noted before, the price is inflated- $10 or more donation required. (I can donate that much myself if they aren't wanted.)

All donations will go through the cookie brigade. Donations of more are welcome, of course. I may throw in a vial of Black Blood of the Earth too... I haven't decided. BBoTE is cold-vacuum brewed coffee, and one vial is between 8 and 16 cups of coffee- and is roughly 50ml. (By haven't decided, I mean, I'm not sure it'll arrive in time :P)

If it comes in on time, Volunteers- if you'd like one (vial), I'll have one for you :)

Haha, oddly enough, I happened to see an exchange where commercial hipsters were trying to defend their business in a PAX related forum. Let me assure you, the PAX Community Coins will never be made by such people. Going into the future, I hope that every PAX Community Coin will be made by open minded people that despite having day jobs, will devote many hours to making sure you get a fantastic coin at a reasonable cost. Remember, those hipsters are about exclusion. PAX is about inclusion. PAX people are the people you want to hang out with.

    Notes to future organizers:
Make sure you include time for people to order. If your cut off is 7 days, you need to be prepared to have orders a couple of weeks after you've closer ordering.
Prepare for people to exceed your expectations. I thought I could only handle paying for 250 coins to be made. 400 coins were made. Don't get too set in your production limits.
Be nice to people. You may think they don't appreciate your hard work. They do, so presume this FROM THE BEGINNING.
Try to minimize ambiguity. Give proper invoices and shipping expectations. It's more work, but clear communication prevents 99% of conflicts.
Don't be a dick (or a hipster). Numquam mentula es. Your ideas aren't better than theirs. If you're looking down on them, you don't belong anywhere near any kind of PAX forum.

Extra note: Karma is awesome and needs cookies and luvs and a t-shirt and maybe a lump of gold electrically coated with platinum.

    ...or whatever is sane.

Seriously, us will call people will have a few days of effort merged with us having fun, mostly by delivering things to people having fun. Yes, we have some overhead trying to make you all get coins.

Karma -is not able to come- and has spent over three months making this happen.

He's right- we appreciate it. And it's warranted.

As people get their coins, please feel free to include comments and pictures. It's a great way to judge satisfaction with the coin. Also, if anyone feels the need to be generous at PAX, remember everyone's favorite PAX charity, the Cookie Brigade.

Do these coins come out of the grass if you slice it with your sword? I was under the impression this was how most Hyrule currency worked, stored in grass, bushes, and pots.
