You may be saving your brain/soul that way.

There's a lot of highly infectious stupidity in these debates.

    You are a funny lady.

I did not watch this debate. My brain at this point is either blocking them out from either over saturation or an attempt to lower my blood pressure.

I only un-mute the debate when a moderator asks a question. Then I read this thread for responses haha

I am sad I missed this. Stupid Work.

Because 9% think it's too high, and shouldn't be cut! 9% of respondents could not fully
get their arms around the question. There should be another box you can check for, "I

The first two words have made me deeply desire the following: someone with talents both musical and cinematic must make a Ron Paul themed parody of the following:

I'm voting just making stuff up.

Well you see Bachmann is really a theoretical politician and is now testing new and exciting boundaries in plausible deniablity.

He's his own brand of crazy, in that he has certain beliefs about the market that don't align with reality in the slightest, but his worldview is consistant

Bachmann's world is a constantly shifting rainbow of crazy

Bush may have been horrible on 98% of his policies, but he did do a bit towards dealing with AIDS in Africa, and that's not only just a plain old-fashioned good thing, it's also necessary to create long-term stability in the region.

Ron Paul thinks that's bullshit, the only thing we should give to Africa is our ideals about free markets. Because free markets are awesome when huge swaths of your population are dying of AIDS.

Paul may be very right on some things, but the -reasons- he's right are usually really, really wrong. The same ideals that make him say we shouldn't sacrifice liberty for safety on the war on terror also make him say we shouldn't sacrifice liberty for universal health care, or for unemployment insurance, or basically anything, no matter how little liberty is being lost, nor how great a benefit we're receiving. Sometimes if seems like Ron Paul reads Hobbes' description of the state of nature and thinks "Man, if only we could go back to that."

Oh, also Gingrich for some reason broke out a bit of compassionate conservatism when dealing with illegal immigrants, so we can pretty much expect that contender status he had going for him to be gone by next week. Judging by the length at which he spoke about it, and his otherwise complete evilness, I can only assume he's decided that this book tour's gone on long enough and he's ready to bow out.

Didn't Bush 2 restrict US aid to combat AIDS in (the country of) Africa to only organizations that promoted abstinence? I remember that there were a lot of stupid restrictions on aid due to the culture wars here at home.

he isn't completely wrong about africa because if it was wealthier and more educated the AIDS rate would drop dramatically. but the AIDS aid bush gave to africa is one of the few things he did right and something he can be commended for.
