So we're all in agreement that Mario Kart Wii is the best Mario Kart right now, right? Good.
Because Mario Kart 7 looks like it is combining Mario Kart Wii with DIDDY KONG MOTHERFUCKING RACING

There are three types of karts: Regular Kart, Hang-Glider, and Underwater-Kart. They have different controls! You get to customize your karts!
Throughout each track there are coins to collect. They unlock stuff! You can hold up to 10 coins in your kart, and holding coins increases your top speed. You lose coins if you get hit. Just like original mario kart, and also like the bananas in diddy kong racing
THERE IS ONLINE AND NINTENDO HANDHELDS ARE ACTUALLY KINDA OKAY FOR ONLINE PLAY
Mario Kart 7 keeps the drifting boost mechanism from Mario Kart Wii: In order to get a boost, you have to drift a certain sized angle. It has nothing to do with mashing left and right! Hooray!
NEW ITEMS:
Fire Flower - lets you shoot fireballs forwards and backwards for a short period of time
That Leaf from SMB3 - Grow a tanooki tail on your kart and press a button to make it flail around, deflecting incoming projectiles and also fucking with the poor, unfortunate souls directly behind you
Lucky 7 - Picks seven random powerups and you get to use them in a random order. Presumably only happens if you're in dead last.
