Our new Indie Games subforum is now open for business in G&T. Go and check it out, you might land a code for a free game. If you're developing an indie game and want to post about it,
follow these directions. If you don't, he'll break your legs! Hahaha! Seriously though.
Our rules have been updated and given
their own forum. Go and look at them! They are nice, and there may be new ones that you didn't know about! Hooray for rules! Hooray for The System! Hooray for Conforming!
So my wife and I have decided that buying a GPS might be better than having arguments when we get lost on trips. I'm looking at
this one, but I don't really want to put it on my dash or my windshield. I'd like to rig up a mount that puts it more near my radio. However, my only non-phone experience with a GPS was with a unit that was probably made 10 years ago, and that required line of sight. Is that still true? Is that why all these things get stuck on the windshield or the dash? If it's more hidden will it still work?
I just got a 3DS XL. Add me! 2879-0925-7162

I have a flat GPS like that that I got used without a mount. I ran the cable under my dash (those things come apart so easy) and velcroed it to a space above my radio.
Careful with the radio mounts - I at least would be distracted trying to look down at it.
FYI, the laws regarding how you can mount GPS will vary depending upon where you live. For example, in California it is illegal to stick something on your windshield.
