I liked murderstuck. Crazy Gamzee is much more interesting than stoner Gamzee.
I kind of agree about
vampire Kanaya being stupid because I don't think that it added anything to the story and it was never explained how she became a vampire at all. I did enjoy it when she kicked Gamzee, punched Vriska, and Shades: Descend. She could've done those things without being a vampire though.

Kanaya post vampire has literally done nothing other than punching vriska, kicking gamzee and killing eridan.
Like, after that she's had maybe two panels where nothing happened.
So it's hard to say if it'll pay off or not
I was hoping she would be different somehow.

And she could be for all we know, which is my point. She hasn't done anything since, because homestuck just bounces around to different things and the focus hasn't been back on her since.
One of the things I'm really hoping for when we see trolls + rose and dave is that we get Some interaction between her and other characters again.
We don't really see her, but we get some chatlogs and she seems pretty much exactly the same. You're right though; we have to wait it out to know for sure.

She leads Sollux to the place where Karkat and Terezi are hanging out and she contemplates austispicing (yeah I didn't spell that right) with Karkat and Gamzee.

I think the light power means she can see the most fortunate timeline one can take. Essentially the same as Terezi's power.

terezi's power is to see where someone's motivations and personality will take them
Her power is to see offshoot timelines, fitting as she was involved with both alternate timeline fakeouts. Presumably Rose has a variant on this involving fortune and luck, as described as Lights role.
Not to mention seeing all of space is Jades thing.

Terezi: Ability to see the root causation of failed and offshoot timelines, but no power to do anything other than directly interfering herself.
Vriska: Ability to "steal the luck" from other people, thereby being able to influence the result of a random chance up to an insane level of probability in her favor.
Rose: Presumably combining the other two in some way. Maybe being able to see the eventual outcome of a random gamble but not being able to influence it?
