    you can use vent
    it's just a separate program

However (since you've never used it) with vista/7 you may need to run vent as admin for your voice keybind to work

    End on

Many thanks to rhylith, misix, and luvthemonkey for the great run through Colicoid games last night. I did manage to die in the fires of the last Boss, so that kinda made me feel connected to the Shamblers of old. :P This flashpoint was a perfect example of where using Vent would have made things so much easier instead of having rhylith type out the basics of all the different phases. Plus, it would help me immensely since I'm still learning better strategy while in a group dynamic.

Fun Fact: If you have really high Scavenging and Slicing, you can earn a robot buddy and a puppy to help you. :)

I have a 40 person vent we could use that i've had from rift if needed, to fill in until something else pops up :P

Me and misix were on vent!

I just figured people usually don't like using it so we didn't say anything.

Thank you to MrD and T4CT for their kind offers, but I think this is our best option right now.

Also, I'm going to try and update the Guild Roster this afternoon. If somebody from the Tauntaun side wants to send me a list from there, that'd be great.

Oh I didn't realize that someone had to host the Vent

I would be up for some voice chat, especially if I'm grouping with any guild members... which has not happened yet, I don't think.

Also, I tend to play late at night, when me saying rude things to you people might annoy my wife/wake my child

These games should just have a voice chat option for Guilds and Groups, jeez already

Let me tell you about in game voice chat options.

    They are terrible.

WoW tried to do builtin voice chat
they didn't do a very good job with it

but seeing how WoW's turned out, I don't think Bioware is going to be too keen on doing their own

    I don't know

It just seems like there should be a not terrible way to implement voice chatting in-game

At least between party members, if not guild-mates or people on your Friends list

In game voice chat means that party/raid communication is beholden to in-game lag, which can lead to a myriad of problems.

Didn't we try to do a raid with Blizzard's voice chat once? That was hilariously terrible.

Moreso than having to type everything that you want to communicate to your party members?

Both times! We ended up typing everything out anyway because people would randomly lose their push to talk key or their sound would totally bug out.

Or the "who's talking" thing would disappear only to reappear right on top of my action bar.

  • JavenJaven Registered User regular
I think there are other voice chat options that don't require someone to host a server, like skype or teamspeak or another that I can't remember the name of, but I think the free ones don't allow the high volumes of players on a single server that vent does. Most people roll with vent because it was the only one that let everyone in a 40 man raid in the same server back in the day.

So it is literally space Cho'gall then?

Has anyone's Tauntaun Milk characters come across Imperial gankcamping yet?

Oh hey they nerfed normal mode directive 7 bullshit boss

I might run that place again now.

Also are the allied weequay pirates referred to in the battle for ilum notes the adds on the second boss? Because if so that fight should be moderately more doable now. All the more since we could already down it it was just kind of a bitch.

    Pretty sure they are.

I was lamenting the other day how slow gearing up via dungeons was, when I remembered that you could actually do more than one a day. I wanna do more than one a day! I guess that's where some kind of LFD system comes in handy, though.

If this is anything like Gears 3... During Flashpoints, T4CT will come up with a strategy to defeat a boss or obstacle, but then charge wildly at the enemy when it's time to execute.

    Good times! ;-)

    The Automated Saboteur - Rich Yield - Cost 870/Payout = 2180
    Pointing Fingers - Bountiful - Cost 1250/Payout = 1900
    Be Careful What You Read - Bountiful - Cost - 1175/Payout = 2104
    The Fly on the Wall - Rich - Cost - 1930/Payout = 4702

why is this game so buggy

ok so after 3 tries to install the patch and getting an error which resulted in havign to download an 11 gig file then getting an error after that I uninstalled/reinstalled

it finally completed the download this time and now it just crashes to desktop whenever I start the game
