I tend to find that with ava/sig combos, whichever has a face in it is the image people associate with the poster. People associated Cass with the character in her sig, not the sigil, because it feels natural to associate a person with an image of a person. As such, the sig draws the eye, the avatar was there just to complement the sig. Now there are two faces that look similar enough that you're kinda sure they're the same character, but the quality of them is so different that there's room for doubt, and now one's attention is divided between the two. They're not working together.

I missed the PATH by thirty seconds - literally it rolled out just as I arrived - and the next was late, so I missed my transfer

I had to go alll the way into philly and switch to the local line and go allll the way back out of philly to get to the nearest station so I could walk the rest of the way

Man I just loved everything about the travel/jump system in Freelancer. It was so cool to be able to just see "oh yeah the route goes here, there's the portal thingies - yup PRESS THIS BUTTON and WOOOOSH"

was so rad.

Also the fact that if you found loads of blackholes and whatnot you could map your route to be extra fast and it was generally badass.

I got a second idea. use one of those changing sigs, and have a shot of the rheinland/walker cloud starscape, and one of the barrier from Bretonia, one of Kusari/Crow nebula, one of the Edge Nebula and one of just the normal sky in the Manhattan system.

And the face that there were like, twice as many systems as were findable through jumpgates alone. So much reward for exploration.

And the backdrops were just awesome.

But the lack of gravity was a bit of a letdown. Flying close to a neutron star is more than just dangerous from radiation!
