you know how a bunch of people in this thread have said how the princess bride is a movie they could watch at any time and it just makes them feel good
that is what speed racer (the movie) does for me me
speed racer (the movie) fills me with joy
Is it awesome if I was never a fan of the original cartoon
I've never seen a speed racer anything except for the av/sigs the forumer of the same name occasionally trots out
a few months ago I watched the movie for the first time and now it is my favorite movie ever
I'm starting up a film blog. So far I've written about mostly pretty heavy, artistic experiences, like Tarkovsky films. I think I need to lighten it up and write about The Princess Bride.
Except that CD already nailed it when he called it cinematic hot chocolate.
the book's ending was so much more melancholy and bittersweet, I loved it
yea i liked the book ending a lot more as well, I dunno though the movie is one of my favorites to watch
there is something delightful and deeply enjoyable about it
it's charming without being cheesy, funny without losing the plot, and it juuuuuuuuuuuust romantic enough without the need for pukey noises
and it has a scene between Robert De Niro and Ricky Gervais which apparently had to be cut short because their banter was totally ad-libbed and they were going on FOREVER
the movie never tries to trick you or outwit you, either, it's just happy you're along for the ride
Also part of why I hate it is that I got stuck watching it when I was at a friend's place and didn't really feel like being there in the first place and then they put it on and I was too polite to leave before it was over ugh.
yea im watching once upon a time and grimm on hulu, love those shows
i was reading that some folks were upset that Once upon a time took the fables(comic) story though
shameless ripoff
On December 8, 2008 it was announced that ABC had picked up the rights to develop a pilot of Fables for the 2009-2010 television season. Six Degrees creators and executive producers Stu Zicherman and Raven Metzner were writing the script for the hourlong drama, again set up at Warner Brothers Television, while David Semel had come onboard to direct.
There has been no news since concerning a series based directly on Willingham's series. Instead, ABC has announced a new series called Once Upon a Time, which features fairy tale characters such as Snow White and Prince Charming exiled in the "real world". The show's creators, Edward Kitsis and Adam Horowitz, stated that they "read a couple issues" of Fables

I got over it after like the second episode. I mean, yeah some parts of the premise are similar, but they're two different beasts now that it's gone along. Also snow white is awesome

Steam: Chagrin LoL: Bonhomie
I will give it a try but if this is a trick to waste my time
I will do nothing about it because my time isn't worth anything
it is a saturday morning cartoon come to life
Obviously Pan's Labyrinth is a masterpiece.
MirrorMask is also super good.
I haven't seen the others, I guess I should.

I was all "the princess what? this is lame"
and then "woah this is good"
Yeah part of why Inkheart is so bad is that I expected it to be sort of like Stardust but it wasn't, it was so much worse.
shameless ripoff
when I'm a grandfather I'm totally gonna go see my grandson someday he's sick and show him The Princess Bride and secretly film us
then edit some of our interactions into the movie
and I'll tell him to keep that film so that someday he can show up to his grandson's sickbed and show him that edit I made
Tv spoiler
apparently I'll be visiting my grandson when he's sick in bed at 25.
haha me too
