Setting up access times. Or just add another router?

Me and my GF are getting her oldest a tablet for Christmas. We want to restrict the access to it, mainly what times he can get on it. Is there a way to limit this in the routers settings? Or would it be easier to just use a separate router with a separate PW that we plug in and unplug at times he can be on?

    Depending on the router it shouldn't be too hard. Setup the wifi on the ipad, and then grab the mac address from the list in the router. Use that mac address in the access and restrictions section to limit usage.

    TY. Luckily I've had to play with MAC addresses getting my xbox online in a hotel. I spent quite a bit on this router about a year ago so hopefully it supports this. Glad to know it's a thing though.
