Speaking of movies about time, I just watched In Time

I thought it was pretty neat!
As I expected, it was a really cool concept whose implications weren't explored as thoroughly as would have liked, but the execution was entertaining enough that I let it slide

Bit too much shaky cam but otherwise I agree

Usually I would agree that shaky cam is bad

but I actually think that the camera-work in that movie was really cool

the shaky cam in the Hunger Games actually served to make the scenes of children brutally killing each other WAY more horrifying

I like how that set of the Prometheus and the set of the Nostromo clearly look like they were made by the same in-universe "manufacturer," but both have a distinctly different level of financial weight to them. The Prometheus looks like a cutting edge, more expensive and clean vessel while the shabby Nostromo looks a generation or two older and like some work-horse mining vessel as it was supposed to be. I'm really impressed by that continuity of aesthetic convention from the original movie to the new one.

    It had a bittersweet ending.

On that note, I wish they would do a serious robot buddy cop film.

I love Blomkamp's short films. They do so much on a budget of pocket money and with a few minutes of time.

Back when he was announced as the director of the Halo film (late 2006?) I watched Alive in Joburg and thought 'hmm, I'd watch a full movie of this'. So District 9 was kind of a big 'kid in a candy shop' moment for me.

Well yeah and then District 9 was not a full movie of Alive on Joburg.

I mean it wasn't a bad movie. I just think it could have been so much cooler.

In my completely uneducated opinion it seemed like there was a lot of studio pressure to make it into big time action movie.

But I could be way wrong

It is super easy to pretend to be a corporation and file a complaint. Youtube now errs on the side of caution and takes stuff down without investigating. It is much harder to prove you're the rightful owner and get it restored.

So yeah, it's probably been mentioned already but still...
It doesn't surprise me that these aliens don't look much like the Xenomorphs. If you remember, they take on some of the characteristics of the host body. Remember in Alien 3 where the one is implanted in a dog... and the chestburster comes out with canine characteristics (walking on all fours, etc).
    Spoiler:

tl;dr verson; SO LOOKING FORWARD TO THIS MOVIE!! :D
