Our new Indie Games subforum is now open for business in G&T. Go and check it out, you might land a code for a free game. If you're developing an indie game and want to post about it,
follow these directions. If you don't, he'll break your legs! Hahaha! Seriously though.
Our rules have been updated and given
their own forum. Go and look at them! They are nice, and there may be new ones that you didn't know about! Hooray for rules! Hooray for The System! Hooray for Conforming!
So I bought a new place and can't seem to find a good place to position the TV. The only spot that has worked so far is above the fireplace. I need a mount that can move vertically(not tilt). Basically, I need a tv mount that acts like a basketball pole or can slide up or down.
1) TV is 60 inches, 90 pounds
2) I already measured the heat output on the wall, no risk of damaging the tv
3) This is the only place I would like to put the tv.
Any ideas where I can find something like this?

a ceiling or ultra-slim type mount would probably do what you want.
None of those have vertical articulation.

I found one motorized one but it's too much: http://www.tvliftcabinet.com/Uplift-3500 I was aiming for under 500.
I should add that it's not something I'd recommend you doing if you've never attempted this before. Also, if at all possible, find another place. Mounting a TV over a fireplace is just a huge pain in the ass, relatively unsafe depending on the wall material, potentially even more dangerous if the fireplace is actually used, and just an all around bad idea.
