I think I solved the Blue Screen errors. Stupid, stupid me, I never looked at the most basic of things, like overclock. I have an unlocked Phenom II 940, and this entire time I was at 18x multiplier, which is ~3.6GHz. I have no idea why I didn't look at this before, I guess I thought it was still sitting at stock clocks all this time. So I took that down to 17x, and did nothing else, and have played Skyrim for hours and hours without fail.

I still save all the time, primarily because I've been scared into doing that from my experiences past. But I guess that's ok.

Side note, saving all the time really came in handy when

At level ~29 or so I decided to jump into the Companions thing, and Dustman's Cairn quest for a Wuuthrad fragment got REAL...quick. I guess I never did this quest at a mid-high level before, and man did it get interesting. I got one-shot over and over by a few select bandits, twice I had full health and was decapitated instantly...that was a bummer. It was also very interesting at the very end, when what I would guess is a bunch of leveled Dragur come at you bro in that last room. That was way more tough than I recall, even with me plucking them off with a conjured mystic bow while my shield-brother takes the hits.

So strange how the game gets really, really hard all the sudden.

So I'm really bad at figuring out "average" damage in terms of swords vs axes versus hammers

I'm not sure if I'm doing more damage overall with my Fine Skyforged greatsword but I do know that I tend to use my Ebony warhammer for one-on-one combat with a giant or dragon but switch to the sword versus hordes of lesser enemies, if only because doing it that way around feels more effective

Well I was more thinking about the whole skyrim quest and light sort of being Meridia's thing, Dawnbreaker and all that, but Azura is cool too.

tribunal and bloodmoon were both great, and shivering isles was staggeringly better than oblivion

this expansion's got a lot to live up to but frankly I'm basically certain I'll play the shit out of it no matter what, I've put like five hundred goddamn hours into skyrim by now

Someone already did the dragon shout thing

like, a week after release or something. It was insane how fast the guy got that done. I'm sure the rest of it could be retrofitted in on that same system.

Yeah I gotta agree. Tribunal and Bloodmoon were both pretty fantastic. Never got into Ob so I can't say much there, but I can tell the difference between an expansion and DLC...so we'll see what this comes out looking like.

So is anyone else running into a bug where when they step into a body of water that is deep enough to see underwater it locks up? It keeps happening to me as soon as i go underwater and then I have to reboot the whole PS3.

Tribunal is my favorite expansion of all time, for any game ever. Shivering Isle was also excellent. Yeah, this has a lot to live up to, but they've got a good history of expansion packs.

So I've been playing this game again. Installed a bunch of mods.

Playing an High Elf wizard, lobbing fireballs around. Installed a mod that ads a bunch of cool spells.

This is awesome.

If Giantbomb is to be believed, this DLC will have content like the expansion packs of old.

I do think it's kind of shitty to hint at DLC details for today then release nothing but the title and an image with the promise of more for E3 though. I'd rather have waited for the actual E3 announcement.
