Our new Indie Games subforum is now open for business in G&T. Go and check it out, you might land a code for a free game. If you're developing an indie game and want to post about it,
follow these directions. If you don't, he'll break your legs! Hahaha! Seriously though.
Our rules have been updated and given
their own forum. Go and look at them! They are nice, and there may be new ones that you didn't know about! Hooray for rules! Hooray for The System! Hooray for Conforming!
Desert Island Discs [Music]
Oh no, your ship has sunk and you've found yourself marooned on a desert island! During the sinking you were able to save your 8 favourite pieces of music, a single book (the island contains a copy of an appropriate religious text and the complete works of Shakespeare) and a luxury (that can't help you escape or communicate with the outside).
What I ask, is which 8 pieces of music, book and luxury would you choose and why?
Obviously inspired by the long-running BBC radio series of the same
name
My music choices would be:

Empire of the Sun I would choose purely because I much associate them with my time at university, and the memories it conjures up when I hear it. In a similar vein, I'd choose 'Rule Britannia', nothing to do with patriotism, but instead it's a song my step-dad would blast out on the stereo on a Sunday morning to get us all out of bed. Another song I don't particularly enjoy per se is Phantom of the Opera. On long car journeys to France or Italy for holiday a tape/CD that would frequently be played by my parents was a musical compilation.
And the rest:
The book I would take is 'The Deeper Meaning of Liff', by no means the greatest book I have ever read, but I just love it and frequently return to dip in, with my copy being the most battered and dog-eared book in my collection.
The luxury I would take would probably be a DVD player and boxsets of the Wire
