On top of two very awesome ongoing comics, in the post-Bay movie world we have Transformers Prime on the Hub
It's awesome and you should all be watching it (when season 2 starts Feb 18th)
They also have toys:
The First Editions which are cancelled everywhere and going for big monies,
and the mainline which isnt as good,
but in Japan will be coming with Minicon weapons
Also due out this year is Fall of Cybertron, the squal game to War for Cybertron. This one will have Grimlock, and combiners
And toys with a confirmed Jazz, Shockwave, and Prime for the first wave
Buy Transformers, read Transformers, watch Transformers, play Transformers.

Vehicons, Decepticon shock troopers. But I think I got the name wrong ...
but then I realized it'll cost a ton to get all the figures and I don't have the space anyway and I got sad
I guess I'll content myself with swindle, who looks rad as hell
It's easy to point out all the stuff those movies do poorly, so I'll point out three things I think they did very well.
1) The transformations are always cool. That may sound silly and obvious, but the way the bots transform is consistently entertaining, and for a movie that's pretty much about that, it's done well.
2) Michael Bay is still a big proponent of practical effects. They generally blend very well with the CG effects and adds a visceral element to the action.
3) The humans don't have prequelitus. They react to the bots believably, reacting to movements both subtle and overt. I completely buy that those CG characters are there in that world. No shots of Ewan McGregor staring into the middle distant while lightsabers are whirling around a centimeter from his nose.
So that's my thoroughly entertaining movie story.
I haven't watched any of Transformers Prime. Is it good? Available on DVD or Netflix?

there are supposed to be eight foc toys in the line, right?
if five of them are the combaticons, that only leaves three, which I guess would mostly be autobots to balance things out
unless they're only doing a few combaticons and then making bruticus a higher class figure instead of a combiner
