I think Brad might not even be bad at games. He was top of the Bastion leaderboards at one point. He may just be the most affected by Quicklookosis

Well he did say he hated talking in front of so many people during the panel. And then someone mentioned the audience for quick looks/TNT is much larger... It'd fit if he got nervous.

That's a pretty dumb comparison, but it's fundamentally true. We talk about the Giant Bomb crew the same way anybody talks about any creative personality they become invested in.
I am frequently wondering how they can even explain games while playing them well. Half the time I'm watching a quick look, I can't hear what they're saying because I'm so concentrated on the game myself.
Factoire isn't a word but still now I can't stop saying Factoire Magique.

with the podcast and the PAX panel mention of Justin McElroy (i guess he's a big games journalist guy too???) i just wanted to mention that the My Brother, My Brother, and Me podcast is hilarious
I really get the feeling that Brad is just awful at playing around other people.
I used to think that too, but there's too much evidence that he just doesn't pay attention to what's going on. He didn't play Journey in front of anyone, and somehow never picked up on the facts that the glyphs lengthen your scarf. He didn't play Arkham City in front of anyone, and never understood how to dive or glide (despite a lengthy sequence in-game that is based around it).
Like, simple obvious gameplay stuff.
The "stage fright" thing is an easy fallback excuse.

My brother introduced me to My Brother My Brother and Me earlier this year and I have been marathoning the archives, up to episode 70 something now. It is completely fantastic.

and I'd argue I'm pretty phenomenal at games
don't worry, it balances out with you being terrible in a myriad of other ways

I first went to Giant Bomb for the quicklooks and gameplay videos, primarily just to check out upcoming releases. Then I started actually listening to the bombcast, around the E3 episodes, and was like 'oh hey the people involved with this are all really awesome'
My first introduction to Giant Bomb was in the E3 thread last year. First there was the recap videos where they're outside the house, and those didn't thrill me. What got me interested was the video with that guy who death stares one of the crew and whoever cut that video zooms into and puts a menacing tune to it. Still one of the funniest things they've ever done in a video. The E3 bombcasts are what got me hooked forever though.

For the record, we know good beer okay. Even here Labatt Blue is kind of a big joke.
oh Brad, you're so awesome
I don't care if people hate you for being bad at every game ever
you're still my fav
They describe it something like "a shitty off-brand version of a regular shitty beer"
Yeah that's exactly what it is. Regular Labatt Blue is already pretty shitty.
Also, Alex is alright.

I think
he might be right
it isn't like picking favorites is something exclusively K-Pop
quite possibly
plenty of people are good at things but can't do the things around other people
*of course I also play badly when no one's there so I am a poor example

Factoire isn't a word but still now I can't stop saying Factoire Magique.
Because he was using a review copy and topping the boards meant finishing it first?
Bastion isn't that hard!
He had finished it/some challenge or whatever with all of the idols activated.
That makes it pretty hard

Justin needs to be on the Bombcast more often.
