being perfectly honest here, I have never seen this name anywhere before
Marvel's new wunderkid who writes that "The Sixth Gun" series, wrote The Fearless miniseries, just took over Wolverine, is writing the Captain America and _____ series, co-writing and taking over venom by august, and cowriting (most likely taking over too) the main Captain America series starting in July. Also wrote Spider-Man Season 1, and is doing the Deadpool Kills the Marvel Universe.

Writer of ONI's The Sixth Gun, he's recently been taking over/co-writing a lot of titles at Marvel, including Venom, Captain America and _____, Wolverine, as well as penning a lot of high-profile stuff like Battle Scars and The Fearless.
He's a good writer, but the massive push he seems to be getting from Marvel, has been a bit baffling.
I wonder what title Larroca will get moved too, Maybe an Avengers title (New would be a nice fit if its still around post Bendis). Dude's one of the artists left that seem to be able to do a monthly comic (and basically two every month this year so far).

Marvel won't do anything to Land until they're faced with legal action like Mike Mayhew was for House of M or like David Mack was for New Avengers #39.
I wouldn't mind Larroca going back to Uncanny if he can go back to his old, less photo reference style. He always said he loved working on the X-Men books and didn't like being moved around, like when Jemas made him draw his Namor series.
I wonder if Marvel takes into account how many people avoid books that Greg Land draws (loosely used term).
Because based on this forum that number is clearly BAZILLIONS OF PEOPLE.
I was basing on number of articles and websites that have no problems pointing him out as a tracer. Just go to Google and type "Greg Land" and some of the autocomplete examples are "...tracing, ...is a hack, ...controversy". Better yet, do an image search, and your screen is filled with porn and comparison images showing his tracing, like this one: http://4thletter.net/gregland.gif. I won't spend any money on him, because Marvel basically says "He gets work done on time." rather than finding an artist who does that, and also doesn't steal artwork.

Does Land perhaps use porn because he knows that porn companies can't afford to take him or Marvel to court?
Or does he just like being able to deduct the cost of porn from his taxes?
Wait, you're seriously suggesting porn companies couldn't afford to sue someone? Unless it's like a photog-model one-site shop I can't see that being the case, and I imagine Disney would want to shut up any association with porn at all very quickly as soon as a single letter crossed their desk.

There're still a few huge porn empires like Hustler and Vivid Video, but the industry has largely seen a movement towards smaller scale operations that probably don't have the capital to take on a company that's owned by Disney. Yes, Disney might just throw a check at them to shut them up, but they might also mire them in excessive legal fees and drive them into bankruptcy to discourage similar suits from anyone else.
From what I can remember from trying to chart it out a few weeks back, putting Gillen on IIM clears the log-jam that left one person without a title, confirms Bendis for X-titles, and gives Fraction an option on FF that probably gets passed to SUPERNOVA CULLEN BUNN.
I still remain dubious about Bendis taking over multiple X-Titles
we know he is still going to be writing Ultimate Spider-Man and Avengers Assemble
his limit seems to be 4 monthly books, with room for other creator-owned things on less taxing schedules
so with the all-but-confirmed cosmic title it leaves him one book without going over the limit
Ideally I'd like Bendis on Uncanny and Guardians of the Galaxy with Mark Waid writing a new Nova ongoing

The only problem with that is how many people are reading Defenders (not enough) how many people in the DM know what the Pheonix is (everyone)
However it's still better than the chances of a reboot with Ultron War (1/Bendis)

So, in relation to Avengers Academy, and the timeline Tony Stark put together:
The world went to shit, lots of people are dead. In Avengers Academy, Reptil retains his future knowledge. How far in the future is the Ultron War, and how does the future that Reptil came from relate to that? He doesn't seem to be freaking about much more than Finesse.[/spioler]

Ultron War seems to be fairly near in the future, like next year tops.

So shouldn't Reptil be trying to warn people and helping prepare for Ultron?

Legal action? Never heard about that
Mayhew traced/copied a King of Spain portrait that resulted in threats of legal action that made Marvel do a new cover for a House of M tie-in (the videogame skin isn't as blatant).
David Mack's cover was per-emptively redone because it became too obvious it was taken from a magazine cover. And then we find out Mack traced Alex Maleev, Alan Davis, and Adam Hughes liberally inside the issue. Marvel even passed around a memo saying Don't Do What Donny Don't Does:
Could this be party do to the impressive sales of Infinity Guantlet after the
Avengers movie?
I mean I know they were already planning something with them but when an arm of your business that is notoriously ignored, like Marvels space stuff, get some sudden mainstream interest it seems like a solid business move to try to push it hard.

Can you prove a correlation between Land drawing and comics bought? It'd be interesting to see such a graph.

I mean, outside of the whole
thing I really dig Fraction's writing, and the art that goes with it.
Marvel has outright said that they are not rebooting after AvX several times so don't worry about that.
Relaunching means they are just gonna start the book from issue 1 again or make it just IRON MAN instead of Invincible or something

you realize that is exactly the piece that the memo is about and that cover was never actually printed right?
And an article that says this is linked to in that very post?
Funny though, someone did use it in a tournament, and all the YouTube comments were variants of "Swagneto".
