In this thread? No way. You must be looking at the thread next to this one.

    dat lazy eye joke... :(

An oldie but a goodie. I'm sorry. If it makes you feel better, why don't you think of your eye as a unique kind of super power? "Able to perceive things at a scope far greater than mere mortals, these are the adventures of SUPER CHU!"

That's cruel. If you're going to kill fish the correct way is to fill a bowl of water with crushed ice. You take the fish out of the tank with a bag and dump it into the ice quickly. The cold shock stuns and kills them pretty much instantly.

I bet they killed the fish because shocked liberals on the internet would squeal in outrage and share the video with as many of their liberal friends as possible. Spread the offense around, y'know?

I agree from a health pov but fuck these people are agonizingly lame to listen to. I want to down a 6 pack of coke just to spite them.

People who argue against processed sugar and HFCS tend to make horrible arguments. Which is funny, because I'm buying what they're selling. Chiefly to replace crap with tasty. A fresh baked brownie is so much more nom than a Little Debbie, and you'll eat fewer of them because the effort involved was more than nothing. Same with drinks. Coffee, tea, cocoa, and liquor is so much more enjoyable than coke or pepsi. Though cream soda is still pretty great.

Screw you coke zero is tits

So the Baker's Larkspur plant may actually survive after all. After having it's entire population reduced from 100 plants to 5 plants by a road crew in the space of an hour in 2005. Apparently the Berkeley Botanical Gardens have been desperately cultivating it from seeds collected from the remaining 5, and attempted a planting near one of the reservoirs in Marin County a couple years ago. I can't find any information online as to whether those plants took hold or not though.

I remember reading the article after the incident in 2005 and it just made me so furious. It's spelled out right in the listing that the species is endangered in part due to road work.

I find difficult to care about a plant going extinct. Like the corpse flower. Fine with that going bye bye

It's idiotic because a huge number of pharmaceuticals end up being extracted or principally derived from plant compounds. Chemical synthesis is not so advanced that we can make do without the leg up we get from nature doing 95% of the work for us.

    That's the global warming argument.

I think the argument for any particular endangered species is "So?"

And that's when I have to restrain myself from stabbing them in the face.

Call me a crazy eco nut whack job, but I don't believe that a human life is worth the life of an entire species. There are lots and lots of people. From an ecological standpoint any given human, any given 50,000 humans is worthless. If we have to take yer jerbs to save a species, do it. If you complain too much, you can be shot. The world will not miss a few loggers.
