I suppose this is an all right middle ground
too much to expect a new game, though I am glad they didn't do some lame hand held crap
I can accept this with time
Baldur’s Gate: Enhanced Edition™ and Baldur’s Gate II: Enhanced Edition™ will feature a re-forged version of the Infinity Engine with a variety of modern improvements.
I have never played Baldur's Gate because it is really tough for me to sit down and play through games from that era so I am definitely down for a modernized update
bioware said BG3 would never happen because BG2 was a perfect storm of everything being set up just right for them to put out a game that ambitious and good.
plus it couldn't actually be BG3 because your pc is what, level 40? where do you go from there? it would be like playing god of war 4: forgotten realms
Might have less of a connection with BG2 than the first two games had
Set you up with a new protagonist, although that might be jarring having tangled with continuity in the form of grinding from peasant to minor deity across the series
when I say bioware I mean people who were working at bioware when they did BG2. just because I don't remember the exact person who said something years ago doesn't make it idle speculation.

@riklaunim 1st rule of #bgee Don't break the fun. We're using the 2nd Edition D&D rules.
I was impressed
This is all coming from Trent's twitter. Don't expect me to do this all damn day.
Now.
And forever.
Oh. This is really disappointing. I was hoping for one seamless game.

(I really want BG3)

turns out Druhim is actually part of Pando

Well, ToB does
second of all, there are ways they could work around that
so I'll take Oster's word that he's interested in doing so over your idle speculation any day
Just be interesting to see what direction they'll take
