Our new Indie Games subforum is now open for business in G&T. Go and check it out, you might land a code for a free game. If you're developing an indie game and want to post about it,
follow these directions. If you don't, he'll break your legs! Hahaha! Seriously though.
Our rules have been updated and given
their own forum. Go and look at them! They are nice, and there may be new ones that you didn't know about! Hooray for rules! Hooray for The System! Hooray for Conforming!
I would like to know more about your personal lives.

Khoo is Dr. Seuss. He's like the highlander, running around chopping heads off to absorb powers. He took Khoo's head and assumed his identity.
Go on....
If we could harness that energy, America could end its dependence on oil.
Also coal, gas... the sun...
Then I realized that this would include Steam games, and I have over 200 of those alone.
Khoo I'm sorry but I ruined your survey.
He lives on as cheezburger grease in our hearts.
I was also thrown off by the answers not having 0-1 choices since I do go out to the movies and buy games now and again but they in no way even out to 12 per year. I wasn't sure if I should answer none because most months I don't buy games/movies or 1-3 because some months I do.
MAKE IT HAPPEN, KHOO
blatent untruths are automatically disqualified
How dare you sir! Beard off at dawn. Loser must shave and buy the ale for the day.
I had to shamefully pick 200+ because fuck you steam
I spend a lot of time here, for one, and feel a certain level of faith for the Church of Khoo
and they tend to recommend good games
But yeah, once you count up all the old titles... 2 original xboxes, a PS2, Gamecube, DS, N64, Dreamcast, GBA, NES, and a cupboard full of old PC games, shareware titles, 3 copies of Mechwarrior 2 depending on which video graphics card I had just bought and a few old Amiga titles... it adds up.
I guess the moral is, I play games, and show no sign of stopping soon, even if I am slowing down.
If it included, say, a "suggested amount" that was roughly what you make off adviews for one user per year that would be good.

I used to. Animated ads would sometimes cause my computer to slow to a crawl, but only on PA. A few of those and I lost patience, and set adblock for PA.
Doesn't seem to be the case at the moment though, so ads are back on.

That was disappointing.
Guess I'll get all personal with Khoo one more time.
the purpose of this survey was for you to learn about the monster inside you
There are different kinds. I only know about PPC (Pay Per Click) and CPM (Cost Per Mille [thousand, usually views of the ad]). PA probably does CPM since they have the traffic for it. CPM is usually priced by the amount of traffic a site gets, and people who run adblock but still show as traffic throw those numbers off. It can be a problem on a site like PA where most people know about AdBlock.
PPC ads is the reason I get angry when I accidentally click ads for companies I don't want to support (like when the screen is frozen and I'm being super impatient by clicking everywhere).
"Oh, whoops, I clicked on an ad. Oh damn it, Mattel!!"
Anyway, it appears we hit the cell limit of Google SS, hence the errors. Sorry for the inconvenience!
Does that mean you can retire now?
The problem with ads is that the bad ones ruin it for everybody else. Ads that becomes a vector for a trojan, or create a terribly annoying pop-up, or has loud sounds are all ads I hate. This leads to me installing adblock-plus on all my friends and family's computers, because it reduces the number of viruses and problems they have by orders of magnitudes, which means happy them, happy me.
That down side to that is while I whitelist sites I want to support (e.g. PA), my friends/family do not know how to do this, and quite frankly do not care how to do it. They just want the web to work whenever they snap their fingers. However, these people also generally are not the ones visiting PA, so not much if any loss there.
I don't think I would advocate forum perks for money. We're not SA.
I know, and I think a lot of us know, that the only ads on the site are ones for games the crew has vetted. It's even lead me to a few games. I'm interested in how many people taking the survey didn't know that, though. Heck, I have no clue how I even know. Probably from reading the forums.
