In 2006, UCLA was in the NCAA tournament, facing Gonzaga.
Gonzaga led by 17 at one point, and with 3:13 left in the game they were winning 71-62.
Then UCLA started a comeback. Gonzaga didn't score again for the rest of the game. With Gonzaga leading 71-70 with 19 seconds left in the game, UCLA trapped their star player in the corner of their backcourt, he made a bad pass, Farmar stole the ball and passed it to Mbah A Moute under the basket for 2 points and the lead at 8 seconds remaining. Gonzaga missed their last shot, and UCLA won, advancing to the next round in the tournament.
I was on campus at the time, watching the game in a student lounge in the dorms. When UCLA won the game, the dorms went nuts for like half an hour. It was bonkers, one of the most exhilarating moments of my life.
Inqi would probably have been one of the students yelling out their dorm window "SHUT THE FUCK UP I'M TRYING TO STUDY!"

I'm guessing pride parades might start to evolve a bit now that there's a big push to get society to recognize the gay family. I'm sure you'll see family friendly gay pride parades in the not too distant future.

Oh man, I've been rewatching the video from when UCLA beat Gonzaga.
I could watch this all day. What a great day that was.
Been doing voice work for medical translations (so that the Japanese scientist who wrote the paper can practise presenting it by listening to my dulcet tones).
GOD IT'S SO BORING.
Two main problems - mispronouncing the names of microbes and having to do a retake, and boring myself into unconsciousness. Guy phoned me up in the supermarket to ask me to do it, I quoted him $75/hour off the top of my head, and fuck that. Next time I will quote much higher.

Oh yeah, let's not forget that Hollins, a 60% free throw shooter on the year, made 6/6 free throws in that game, including 2 at the end to bring the score from 71-68 to 71-70.
