    Alright will take care of my battle just to keep things moving.

    Ancients:3 hitsdestroys 1 fighter
    2 fighters:0 hits
    Ancients:0 hits
    2 fighters:0 hits
    Ancients:2 hits2 damage to a fighter
    2 fighters:2 hits-and there's that saved up good luck-destroy both ancients, place influence token and colonize hex.

    It looks like the initiative order is

    2 interceptors (1d6 hitting on 6 each)
    1 dreadnought (2d6 hitting on 5)

    2 Ancients (2d6 hitting on 5 each)

    My first roll:

    Hang on real quick, I'm looking up the rules for retreating while I try to decide whether or not to pull the Dreadnought back.

    So apparently the way it works is that on the dreadnought's turn, I get to decide whether to retreat the dreadnought or shoot with it. The ancients can still shoot the dreadnought until the dreadnought's next turn if I decide to retreat it. So I'm going to shoot with my interceptors first and see whether or not the question is moot.

    I would love to, but at least not yet. I don't want my only way out being through the GCDS.

    No, HAL, no!

    Someone's got to deal with the obviously power-mad Mechanema! The Hydrans have no fleet, they've subverted the Union, the Directorate has no access, and that leaves you and us! The only answer is to have a treaty so we can strip the flank by you and take out the GCDS, and when I die in a blaze of glory you can pick up the pieces!
    I can already tell I'm going to love the alliances in this game. :)
