Phasewalk was good as an escape, but really shit as an offensive power. That's what I like about all the new powers, they seem to be set up that they aren't completely useless on boss characters (even Maya's will do something against bosses that are too big to lift).

I think escapes are pretty useful for anyone. For a while people didn't think anyone but Lilith could solo Craw. I haven't watched much stuff on the new classes though, how does phaselock work?

Phasewalk was an awesome offensive power as well. Here is my strategy.

    Get low on health
    Phasewalk to back of opponent
Melee out of it for awesome damage
By the time health was low again you could repeat the process.

Lifts up the enemy and based on talents the enemy can take more damage from hits and then explode in damage to other enemies around it for more damage or upon death give health to those who are shooting it.

Basically its a cc power that can be used like seed of corruption in WoW based on how you build maya.

phasewalk was game-breakingly strong, offensively. It's been a while, so I don't remember exactly how I was built but I remember it doing monster melee damage and throwing out a lot of AoE CC

Phasewalk is brilliant defensively, and offensively. It's the strongest special move, hands down.

It was truely the best power hands down. Which again is why I'm glad this time out all the powers look to be good (along with the talents for each of the groups). I think I remember from one of the previews salvador gets a talent that occasionally he'll throw two grenades instead of one.

Hopefully that will only use up the ammo of one, because the double fire guns in borderlands still ate up those extra shots.

I never really played Lilith. The furthest character I got beside Mordecai was Roland at level 45. I really want to get a good leveled Brick and Maya to see how awesome their powers are, but at lower levels I just don't like their abilities enough to power through. Can't wait to see what they've got in store for Zer0's sniping tree though. I really hope we run into Mordecai leading a bandit city or something in BL2. Or just, I dunno, I just hope it's awesome. I really like that they're working the BL characters in as NPCs.

Phasewalk basically makes Lilith the easiest character to solo Cromerax. Shit gets to close phase walk to other side. Destroy all worms and rape another weak point. Repeat for great justice. My bro can solo Crom like its nothing. My Mordicai can crit a weak point for 15k a shot and I still just get destroyed by hyper-worm chaos.

This cosmic dance bursting decadence and withheld permissions twists all our arms collectively, but if sweetness can win- and it can, then I'll still be here tomorrow to high five you yesterday, my friends. Peace

In early game, I can sort of understand how someone might think phasewalk was underpowered, but once you get a handful of talents going into it it rapidly becomes utterly obscene; Radiance rips their shields and health to shit, the elemental artifact can add a metric fuckton of DoT, corrode with (god forbid) phase strike has the potential to knock bosses teeth lose... Yeah. Phase walk was just stupid good.

Playing as mordecai in my current game and while I was a little unimpressed with the gunslinger tree at first it has (with a handful of interesting guns) become stupid good; I have a repeater pistol that combines excellent power, accuracy (95.6!) and rate of fire (15.1 which goes ridiculous with my build). It's 26 round clip empties in less then 2 seconds but almost anything caught in it's path is dead even faster then that. I can't imagine that using the sniper tree could be this much fun.

I wish I had picked up Borderlands sooner. I only recently got it in the summer sale, and am totally addicted. I'm afraid my compatriots have moved on to other games after we found the vault; I've had to start soloing the DLC. There's still so much more to experience! I've mainly done Mordecai, but just started a Lilith. That's still two characters untouched! And Borderlands 2 just around the corner..

I've never used phasewalk as an offensive ability, mostly because I didn't believe the melee damage and so on would really be that powerful. Think I'll respec and try it out a bit.

Well if you played at launch the meele part was broken on the phasewalk abilities. I remember that was true for months, so thats one reason I don't think of it as offensive power. Well that and when you kill craw, you use it as an escape more often than not.

OK, I'd like to ask a serious question. This is pre-order cancel material here.

My wife wants to know if you can loot mailboxes in Borderlands 2. I think it was once of her favorite things to do in the first game, you know, right after setting people on fire with bullets. These days I keep a close eye on her when we go for walks around the neighborhood.

Just pausing a preview of the sirens talents on the youtubes they are going over the motion tree. Which seemingly lets you gather enemies towards a phaselock target, have it switch enemies upon an enemies death, and then the end of tree talent turns the phaselock target on its friends. So they are sucked in and fight each other and then when the target dies it switches to a new target to start all over... Amazing.

I recall in an interview they said it will do something against bosses. As that was a prime complaint about powers from the first game is that outside of phasewalk and to a lesser extent rolands turret they were useless against bosses.

What? I punched the crap out of that giant, tentacled vagina.

But seriously, other than maybe Rakk hive, I can't recall a boss I didn't 'zerk to death.

But it was not efficient to zerk the destroyer, like punching his tentacles was pretty useless especially in new game + It was also a lot more efficient to just shoot it/use grenades. I only used Bricks punching power on bosses to refill my health.

Yeah playthrough 1 where the destoyer doesn't adjust to you is a lot easier to do than a playthrough 2 era one. As are most enemies to be perfectly honest.
