They give out lanyards every year with your bag when you get to the con. They're not super high quality so if you have something nice like a lanyard from Liger (http://knittedsteel.storenvy.com/) you might as well bring it.

That depends on what the pony answers to. If its 'Liono' you may be ok. Otherwise you may have trouble getting in. You could always ride into the queue room and see what the enforcers do.
