Our new Indie Games subforum is now open for business in G&T. Go and check it out, you might land a code for a free game. If you're developing an indie game and want to post about it, follow these directions. If you don't, he'll break your legs! Hahaha! Seriously though.
Our rules have been updated and given their own forum. Go and look at them! They are nice, and there may be new ones that you didn't know about! Hooray for rules! Hooray for The System! Hooray for Conforming!

it does some other fixes, but the "watched" threads will sticky themselves, and then when they lock and you go into the thread it will ask you if you want to un-sticky it since the thread is locked.

I hesitate to call Google Chrome the "best" browser

because I accept the possible existence of some kind of ur-browser, Plato's Browser Form, if you will

    However Chrome is getting there

I would love to use Chrome if I wasn't at work where our options are IE7 or Firefox

chrome's main and only failing that I have seen is that you have to be a fucking coder to figure out the properties of an image.

the inspect element function is just atrocious, and I can't believe still exists

I am on a uni computer right now and therefore I am using IE

    which, really

    it's not awful, or anything

it's not like when I click on the screen, an invisible hand grips my testicles and wrenches them brutally, leaving me feeling stunned and nauseous

    but Chrome is better

IE isn't terrible, yeah, but Firefox still gives me extension support. Gotta have that Noscript.

just bookmark the thread in the forum software by clicking the little flag at the right end of the thread in SE++ view.
Then you can go look at all your threads by clicking on "bookmarked threads", and it keeps up with name changes, too

As someone who has to use these features daily for his job, ya'll can get the hell out.

I suppose it would be nice if they had a feature for less technical users though.

yeah it's dumb it isn't easier to find, but fortunately there are extensions for that

"Image Properties Context Menu" is the one I use

(also inspect element is a pretty damn important feature)

if you want to go down that route, finding out the size of an image isn't really normally for the layman either
which is why it's hidden inside a non-layman feature

(as for why it's not an extension, it's such an important feature for developers that it gets replicated everywhere, but it predates chrome's extensions and chrome's extension framework isn't not as all encompassing as firefox's)

but usually when I want to find the size of an image, I don't really want to use the developer tools either

yeah, I don't see how having dev tools be the default for normal image property search is in any way intuitive. Especially when other browsers don't do that.

I mean, does inspect element have to go away in order for their to be a "check image properties?" That's not even the discussion. Chrome's whole deal is supposedly that it's really easy to use, and then you right click on an image and suddenly your screen explodes.

It's a really poor design choice.
