i would recommend that if you're new to MSPA you should start with Problem Sleuth

if only because it's way way way shorter, so it'll let you get an idea of whether you like the basic thrust of how MSPA works

That's true, but they're quite different beasts though. I know of lots of people who like one but not the other (usually it's PS fans not taking to HS).

Problem Sleuth is kind of neat as a parody of totally convoluted RPGs and adventure games.

But Homestuck is much better at being an actual story with characters I'm interested in.
