I was heading out for a booty-call, had a car run a read light, which means that this happened.
Car ran a red at an intersection, had nowhere to go but the curb, was too large a curb to try to lift over it.
Last time I had wreck around here, I ended up in the hospital for a week, had surgery, and spent seven months healing up. This time, the bike took the brunt.
I got flipped into the sidewalk, but came away with, luckily, just a sore/twisted lower back and a gash on my palm.

Took off. I didn't hit his car, I swerved and slammed breaks, still hit the curb at speed. Was going downhill. After some nice folk helped me up and checked on me, I noticed two SPD offices a few feet away giving a homeless dude shit and not making eye contact with me. I know better than to expect anything good from SPD, so I picked my bike up and walked it home.
Did you go party tonight? Did you manage to meet up with your ladies/dudes/ladiedudes?
Otherwise not very eventful beyond a hectic work day.

That would be nice but when there are people here who have much more pressing issues, I refuse to take donations. Plus, pay-pal never responded to the paperwork I sent them so they still hate me.

that sucks about your bike though, I'm glad you weren't hurt any more than you were. even when your bike is chained up motorists don't give a shit it seems.

And then in the afternoon I'll be taking my nephew out to the Harry Potter exhibition that'll be ending soon here.
I spent last night hanging out with a theatre person or two, people I ain't spent too much time with for a while, and it was nice to catch up. Kind of weird, because we're supposed to have all sorts of vague rivalries and animosities, but really enjoyable, overall.
