Reality TV: People On Camera Getting Real (Mostly Real Dumb)

Even with places like Youtube, we still turn on our TV to see the best and worst of America (if not the world) try to live with each other with a camera in their faces constantly. Either for cash, fame or a sweet place to stay at for a few months. Mostly everyone has at least one favorite series if not a channel.

    While the bad singers on American Idol are hilarious, I never really liked the fact that they only get on camera because they are straight-up tricked by the previous judges who let them through just so they can get on camera where the entire country will laugh at them.

    I mean, it's no wonder so many of them would get so mad, when they're blatantly misled up to that point.

    But then, that's the risk you take when you sign on for that.

    My mother is addicted to the various Real Houswives shows as well as Toddlers and Tiaras and Dance Moms

    at least 2 TVs are set to them at all times during the day

    Animal planet has a show called must love cats, and they featured one lady who made jewelry from shed cat hair. I'd buy it.

    Also I can't stop watching those serious reality shows, like first 48, intervention, my strange addiction, hoarders, etc. I don't actively seek them out but when I'm channel surfing and see those shows on, especially in marathon form, it's game over

    I love ALL reality tv cooking shows
    Chopped, Iron Chef/America, Hell's Kitchen, Worst Cooks, MasterChef, etc.

    As far as other reality, I'll watch So You Think You Can Dance, The Voice, and American Idol... but the singing ones generally get boring after the auditions.

    Barry, and the ever present game of "Is Darrell actually going to buy something this week?"

    I don't know if Top Chef/Chopped/etc count as reality TV, but I enjoy those. I don't want to like Chopped, but I end up watching anyways.

    Amazing Race lost me a couple seasons back, and now I feel like the producers manipulate the outcomes. My suspension of disbelief has been broken. I only watch when they go somewhere cool.
