Our new Indie Games subforum is now open for business in G&T. Go and check it out, you might land a code for a free game. If you're developing an indie game and want to post about it,
follow these directions. If you don't, he'll break your legs! Hahaha! Seriously though.
Our rules have been updated and given
their own forum. Go and look at them! They are nice, and there may be new ones that you didn't know about! Hooray for rules! Hooray for The System! Hooray for Conforming!

but then you end up passing out and waking up in your bed, but you do have the gun you got from chie but nah your dude is probably just insane and imagined those people
maybe
who knows!
i don't
yeah that part is what made me think of my speculation
if you remember, i'd definitely be interested in hearing how it actually turns out
for sure
i do think that bit is just trying to be misleading though
for one it is super early in the game, and for two it's so obvious that ehhhh it's gotta be something more clever than that
That game is utter ass, and they were way too nice to it.
Doesn't look that bad in the quick look, especially if you really like MMO arena style PvP. I haven't played it, obviously, but I also don't like that sorta thing anyway.

1. Throw a star at a guy.
2. Throw TWO stars at a guy.
3. Melee attack that has a high chance to crit if the target is under 50% HP.
4. Throw a bunch of stars at a guy.
5. Stealth and become immune to damage for a bit.
It's worth noting that none of these are "skill shots" in that you pick you target and the aiming is done for you. Nearly every character is like this, and the result is a very braindead, boring experience.
The best part? Go back to that quick look when they're browsing the store. Look at the rat guy's stats. His complexity rating is almost max.
But the arena battleground stuff was generic boring MMO PVP, and I can't understand wanting to play that divorced from the loot grind/character progression of an MMO

The cheapest hero is about 25500gp, on sale, and you get, apparently, 300gp on a win, and maybe 50 per loss, so you're in for a lot of grinding. And if you're looking to buy with real money, you're going to be out $11.

A loss is not just 50 gold. You roll for rewards by satisfying conditions. One for playing, one for winning, one for top three score, and so forth. It's just...really unlikely that you're going to roll more than once if you lost. It doesn't help that prices are insane. I mean, 60,000 gold for the healer goblin, and I got 55 for a loss.
I decided to play a hero that I hadn't seen in beta (and you get him free for doing the tutorial). His skills:
1. Melee basic attack
2. Melee attack that reduces damage you take for three seconds.
3. Melee attack that hits TWICE
4. Melee attack with a bleed component.
5. Longish cooldown skill that increases all damage for 15 or so seconds.
Even more heinous is that the customization is totally dependent on owning the hero. There's talent treeish stuff like WoW and you have three slots to equip perks into. One I had was for +15% damage. But YOU HAVE TO OWN THE HERO. If they are free for the week? Fuck off, you'll have to suck it up. After playing Super Monday Night Combat for months, this kind of setup is just hideous to walk into.
@Didgeridoo dragged me to a "Bioware" panel that ended up being about this stupid game.
I am convinced that the guys involved with it are crap.

yes this is a thing I am aware of
EA just had Bioware absorb most of Mythic when it came time to do PvP stuff in TOR.
Ahahahahahahahahaha
Sully and I walked into this panel prepared to read things and take notes and be excited about Bioware's new thing
turned out to be this
we got up and left

i miss chris...............
So did we.
I got up to use the restroom, and duck/didge assumed that I had just plain left because it was so terrible.

it's just like
it was so boring
and I hate when that one woman (I do not know her name but you know the one I'm talking about) talks about things because she is the least excited person in the world

But maybe forcing that asshole to stick with the shattered shell of the shitty game he overhyped is a fitting punishment.
why must mmos always be so disappointing
It is interesting.
@Munkus Beaver I'm sorry okay!! Listen
Listen
that hurt me just as much as it hurt you
and boy did it hurt. Why would they do that to people, munkus. Why would they make you think you were getting ice cream before shoving rancid frozen yogurt down your throat
whyyyy
PS @a duck! totally saved you from being ditched because I was on my way out the building, assuming you were going to meet us outside because you had the desperate need to get away from that panel (which I fully understood)
Drew's a cool dude
i happen to actually be writing words about this right now.

The worst part was I slowly started to recognize who the people were. "Wait, I know these guys...I've seen that idiot before. He looks like Jeff Ger....oh shit no, not that tool." And then the panel had begun.
"After the success of Warhammer Online" how can he lie like that "We decided to make a League of Legends clone" vomit everywhere

throughout the whole video I just felt like doing John Stewart's italian stereotype imitation
the BALLS on this FUCKING GUY
they gotta be the size of MELONS
He was one of the more entertaining things to come from the Mythic acquisition.
