The Raid: Redemption is fuckin' incredible (so are other kung-fu movies)
Posts
I will type up a full reactions post later
For now all I can say is that it was incredible
what did you think of how that last fight ended
i was FREAKING THE FUCK OUT
And thrn he did and it was fucking incrediblel
and the ending to that fight was fucking siiiiiiiiiiiiiiick
was really ,really good
cinematography was beautiful, it was incredibly atmospheric
the beginning of the movie was amazing, it set things up so well
the violence caused me to literally put up my hands in shock at a few points
at the beginning when he opened the desk droor and pulled out the hammer, I almost gasped
the ending was incredible, with the relationship between the brothers and Andi's decision to stay behind
the way he smiled as he walked away
SO GOOD.
Also, they used the wilhelm scream!
the theatre fucked it up so the subtitles were right below the screen, and were unreadable for awhile till they fixed it, and they didn't restart
pretty sure I didn't miss much though, just setting up that there's a bag guy there and what not
also that ending was pretty fantastic
HOLY SHIT
what
Director confirms it on his blog
FUCK YES
the guy that wrote/directed wants to do more
i think he's already working on number two
if you like this movie check out merantau because that was his first movie and it's not as good but the fights are radical
interesting
When it's only 15?
that's actually the sequel
the same exact movie
just twice as many floors
I would watch this
not kidding
I just assumed he was on the top floor
whoooooops
there were a lot of really subtle jokes and nods in the movie, loved it
{Twitter, Everybody's doing it. }{My Rambling Blog}
I still can't believe they used the wilhelm scream
that was great
Cause holy shit was it pretty funny to see
was it the part with the guy and his back
dammit
it was just the titles next to every name
Hallway Guy 1
Hallway Guy 2
Hallway Guy 3
Hallway Guy 4
Hallway Guy 5
Hallway Guy 6
Sniper 1
Sniper 2
Bathroom Guy 1
Bathroom Guy 2
etc etc
that whole fucking thing ruled
probably my favorite sequence in the movie, up there with the tonfa/knife combo
I haven't cringed that much at a martial arts movie since Ong Bak.
so good.

man
the entire time i'm just thinking "no no no do not get near this dude with a knife, he's just gonna take it from you somehow, and then ruin your shit with it
this man does unholy things with knives
don't do oh there he goes yep stab stab stab"
because the plot didn't make sense and the characters were thinner than office paper.
It's a fun movie to watch, a reminder of what western directors could learn from eastern fight scenes (nary a shaky cam), but it could have been a whole lot better with some more attention paid to the writing.
For example
The movie is called The Raid: Redemption and
i'm also not sure what you mean about the shaky cam comment because this movie had plenty of it
not a romantic drama.
I could give all of zero fucks about the writing. I mean, look at Ong-Bak. Great movie, terrible writing.
