Yes really. I played a game with Rend in my mafia once and he played the entire game without actually lying. Omission of truths isn't lying. He's actually very good. Rend deals are pretty neat, in fact, I'll offer one up to the first person to PM me from this game.

I am not fond of Rend deals in normal phallas. Too easy to form networks that way.

I am more ok with them in faction games.

Yeah, in a faction game the"village" is divided up into several groups that cannot win together, but usually still have a common enemy in the mafia, who are spread throughout them all,typically.

The problem is that village idiots can drastically change the course of the game, wasting an entire day for everyone involved, and often in a way that disproportionately affects the mafia.
