Help Identifying mystery bird

This bird has taken residence in the exhaust vent in the bathroom of my house. I saw a blackbird exiting there this morning, but the recording sounds nothing like it or, more like a mockingbird of some kind. Does anyone have any idea what it is?

The recoding was taken on my phone, amplified and noise reduced as it was very quiet. All mechanical noises other than clicking / scraping are from the bird.

    Where do you live? That might help us to make a better guess. I mean, naturally, if a bird got loose from someplace it could be a bird from anywhere, but it helps to know a region when trying to ID wildlife. My mom's pretty good with birdsong, so I can let her listen to the recording and see whether she has any idea.

    Edit: My mom's current best guess is that it might be an escaped/feral mynah bird, since it sounds kind of like a human mimicking a bird.

    If you're in the US, try www.allaboutbirds.org.

    They have recordings of all US bird calls. You'll need to know a little about the size/shape if you want to narrow down your search.

    I'm in Atlantic Canada. I have gone through all about birds. We tried to narrow it down to grackle / northern mockingbird / eu starling, but none of the birds we've seen match the birds that are known to mimic mechanical noises. It might be a moot point now. It all came to our attention a while back when we noticed birds fighting outside the window. A few days later we started hearing singing from the exhaust vent, and then the other morning there was a blackbird (appeared black w/ yellow beak from 25') emerging and meeting two others in a tree in the neighboring yard. There has been no fighting, pecking, or singing since yesterday afternoon.

    Yeah, totally just sounded like a human mimicking a bird to me.
