Not ashamed to admit I bought my 3DS on launch day for Nintendos standard lineup. (Mario, Zelda, Metroid, Animal Crossing)

Animal Crossing needs to hurry the fuck up.

I take my 3DS to work with me. It's in sleep mode the whole time and after 10 hours the bars haven't dropped at all.

Me too, it stays in my desk at work in sleep mode, and it still has full bars when I'm done for the day.
Also Kid Icarus has fantastic multiplayer.

I've got the nok bigger battery and can go about two full days on a charge with maybe 2-3 hours real playtime, rest in sleep mode.

Are there any digital games on the eShop that are like board games I can play turn based with a friend? I'd love to see some board games turn into digital games (like how they did Ticket to Ride on the iPad) I could "play by post" with friends on the 3DS. Differing mobile OS choices won't allow me to do it on our phones.

I added xeno, fiji, and vow. I need more people to send inappropriate notes to.

Edit: using the browser would be better if you could use dpad and buttons.

I went from two and half pages of tiny icons to one page of medium-sized icons.

    Thanks folders.

I used Sporky's idea to start with a symbol. It makes the folders look better.

This is probably way LTTP. But damn, have I been blown away by Revelations. I mean, the story is shit (even for a RE) but is it fun! Nintendo keep releasing stuff! I need my Fire Emblems and Monster Hunters here!

By the way, is Mario Kart 7's online as busy as Mario Kart Wii's? Or is it barren?

Folders are cool but if they are going with one character they really missed the boat on adding some classic Nintendo symbols to use. Stuff like a Mushroom or Triforce would be greatly appreciated.

Would love to. You're gonna need to clear the first three chapters just in order to play Raid mode, though, and new stages are unlocked every three chapters from then on, along with the occasional character or outfit.

Ahh ok, i've cleared 2 so far, i'll clear 3 by tomorrow easily. Is raid mode the co op? I thought it was co op like RE 5 was, where you hop in and can do the game together. I know many of the missions past the intro one have 2 characters in them.

What's your code so I can add you?

Yeah the single player game isn't co-op, the devs have stated that this was intentional because RE is supposed to be a creepy/horror game, and co-op completely wrecks that.

But you can play through the game in co-op, for all intents and purposes, by playing Raid Mode. It takes you through chapter by chapter, area by area, with similar monsters to fight. It just isn't trying to tell the story or impose limited resources on you.

But you've got to beat the game first to really sink your teeth into it. Higher difficulty levels are crazy.

People are saying that the recent folder and eShop update also changed a few other things.

Some have said they notice faster loading, faster moving around in the OS. Probably placebo effect of getting an update, though.

You know how pressing L or R while in the OS brings up a quick camera app? You now have to hold down L or R for a bit for this to happen, which is awesome news in my book. I've brought it up accidentally one too many times.

Also, uploading photos to Facebook...apparently it used to say that the browser didn't support it, but it works again. This could mean that there was a browser update in general; along those lines, some people have reported that sites that didn't load previously now work.

On that note, this is interesting. 3DS the most HTML5-compliant gaming browser, Vita the worst. Of course, 98/500 still sucks. The worst modern browsers on any other platforms are still above 100.

Did they make the 3DS browser not a sluggish piece of crap that flat out gives up trying to render large webpages? :P

They might have increased the delay, but it's been like that. Tapping it just made a little "click" sound and you had to hold it for a second for it to come up.

Something interesting for the Nintendo investor meeting:
    - New super mario bros 2 will be offered for packaged or full download to SD card

Not a big deal for NSMB specifically but as I said earlier I'd love to be able to download something like Animal Crossing so that it would always be available.

The digital-only downloads have a very big problem for me. I'm all digital on my Vita, and was on my PSP. I love it. Unfortunately, Nintendo ties purchases to your hardware. That's a 100% never-buy for me. I have lost a LOT of DS/Wii games when I sold old consoles because they weren't tied to any accounts. Until they bring it up to 2012 standards, I will never buy it. If they DO fix it, I would love Animal Crossing digital as well. Then it's ALWAYS with me for one more fish... one more bug... one more fish...

Maybe they changed it with the new eShop? All I know is the games I bought on my DSi can't be re-downloaded to my 3DS unless I pay for them again. I was told the same on the Wii. I'd love to hear that I'm wrong though!

Do they? I thought you had to do a 3DS - 3DS transfer with both consoles to get the eShop stuff to transfer (and things like the ambassador games). Wasn't this an issue when people wanted to trade in the black/blue ones for the Zelda 3DS?

Was it? Maybe they don't have that aspect fully up and running yet. Regardless the account is coming, Nintendo has said that you'll be able to buy games online at work and have them automatically downloaded to your 3DS sitting at home, so this is still the last generation with that sort of transfer difficulty.

It will happen with Wii -> WiiU as well.

Last E3 Iwata mentioned that they're going to implement accounts. They have plenty of time till NSMB2's release to implement the infrastructure, so I don't think we'll have to worry about games being tied to hardware soon.

Hooray for Nintendo implementing futuristic present-day features in their systems!

I'd be upset if I couldn't transfer my VC and Wiiware games to the WiiU.

  • ArcSynArcSyn Registered User regular
Cool. You could see this coming anyway since your Club Nintendo account would know when you purchased a new game on the 3DS/Wii shops. They already have your purchases tied to an account in some way so it makes sense to use it for redownloading on new hardware.

I never understood the "Well if your DS breaks you're SOL" complaint..Send it into Nintendo for repair. Half the price of buying a new system if it's not under warranty.

Want to buy the new model? Do what I did when I moved from Aqua Blue to Flame Red: Buy the new system, transfer your data, then sell the old system.

It's obviously inconvenient and not ideal. Most everyone likes to subsidize their purchase of the new system by selling the old one.
