Oh God you mean the bi-furious chick in SP was Katara?!?! I fucking hated that character and it's not like I was fond of the movie in the first place.
haha, woah, check out the opinions on THIS guy
(they're bad)
Yeah I'm sorry I thought nearly everyone in that movie was a complete douche. Knives was pretty cool and it annoyed me that Scott picked a bland goth chick over her.
I'm sorry but I gotta clear something up.
This is Goth to you?
really?
He probably meant hipster but his mind got confused and thought it was the 1990s for a second.

based on the logo on her shoulder and a leaked pic where the Fire Ferrets are sporting that logo, we now have confirmation that she is going to sponsor them, which would seem to place her firmly into the camp of active member of Team Korra. I'm quite glad for that, as they seriously need a non-bender in the main group if the storyline's going to deal primarily with benders vs. non-benders.
Until this thread I had never even considered that the light show during Aang and Ozai's fight was literal. Myself and my friends always thought it was just a visual way of showing an internal struggle... Am I way off base here?
I am pretty sure it's literal
I can't remember them doing entirely metaphoric visual stuff like that before
Not to sound rude but, do you mean aside from Aang's magical star journey during The Guru, or the visualization of Toph's earthbending senses, or how the viewer can see air currents when they are being bent? It's pretty common throughout the show, I thought this was a similar deal.
entirely metaphoric
like Aang's magical journey was stuff he saw
Toph's earthbending senses is what she sees
the visible air currents are visible to people within the show as well

Gainax anime doesn't impress me beyond the animation

Because they're assholes.
Also, brain eating shape shifting space witches.
But mainly assholes.
Why I fear the ocean.
some guy said matt and kim are emo
smh
The shippers are gonna love her.
Also,
because that would be a reference to FLCL
GASP!
I'm sorry.
It's beautiful animation with a great blend of humor and action and subtle/not-so-subtle metaphors.
FLCL is great stuff.

there's definitely substance
it's not high art or anything but there's more to it than just flash
although yes that is the primary appeal
and the actual like, themes and shit don't start clicking into place until episode 4 or 5

FLCL was basically a big excuse to experiment with new animation techniques
I consider it to be more loosely connected shorts than a proper show
and strung-together it's just long enough to be a movie, so I almost always rewatch it all at once
scott pilgrim
bad anime
the rumors were true, this is the worst thread
Did you just call FLCL bad Anime?
cartoons get remembered
but anime never dies
dude.
there is literally not a single good transformers anime
the good cartoons are american made
and even then the best transformers stuff is in the comics
patently false
What about Cowboy Bebop, Anti?
Can't nobody be hating on Cowboy Bebop. It is one of the basic animes of no offense to anybody.
Even the bubble boy could watch it.
On the last day of the bubble boy's life he asked for a copy of Cowboy Bebop. Used the disc to pop his own bubble.
Last thing he said was
Awesome thanks for the Cowboy Bebop I loved it so much.
It was the only pleasure I ever knew.
He used sign language to say this to the scientists
Everyone who was on hand completely cried their hearts out as the plastic bubble drew tightly across his face
Slowly suffocating him
Why I fear the ocean.
Hey now the MSPA thread is still kicking
