solar I don't think you know

    goku also beats everyone

hell the only reason there was any real conflict in the cell/buu arcs is because goku was half-assing it because he wanted somebody else to step up and save the world for a change

    I like superman more though

    which is all that matters

    Who could like Goku more

I mean I have never seen an episode of DBZ in my life

but my opinions are sturdily based on prior assumptions

At the end of the day, all that matters is this: Kenshiro can make people's heads explode just by touching them, so he's the coolest. The End.

Goku has lost fights, but never a rematch. He retains a physical body after death, and can instantaneously teleport unlimited distances--between the realms of the living and the dead, he has the capability of destroying solar systems (and by leaps and bounds, not just "he could do it," but it would be easy for him). He's stronger than every competitive fighter with positive karma who has ever existed in his universe.

When Superman gets too powerful, the writers take away powers, or come up with weaknesses. Goku retires to another realm because he beat everybody.

The Spirit is when Miller gave up any claim to integrity and/or sanity. Also, way to fuck over Will Eisner, guy. Classy as hell.

An influence on early Superman stories is the context of the Great Depression. The left-leaning perspective of creators Shuster and Siegel is reflected in early storylines. Superman took on the role of social activist, fighting crooked businessmen and politicians and demolishing run-down tenements.

i think it's because of slum lords keeping people there

presumably new ones in decent condition are supposed to replace them

oh, well that makes a lot more sense

i was thinking it was superman's warped way of trying to beautify the city and bring in more real estate value

    I will take Munch's word.

I guess when your twelve years old reading his FF run you don't really see stuff like that.

  • SolarSolar Registered User regular
    Don't get me wrong

Byrne wrote a lot of good stuff, his FF was great, his West Coast Avengers (with some horrible, glaring exceptions like turning the Vision into an awful bland colourless robot) were pretty cool, he worked on the X-Men for years with Claremont and was heavily involved in the storytelling on that book, he wrote She-Hulk and as has been said, he made Sue Storm and She-Hulk into the characters that a lot of fans love today.

It's just that he also was a misogynist at times as well (though he kind of rolled from one extreme to the other, weirdly enough). And to be fair, he was not alone in that by any stretch.
