also I vehemently disagree with anyone who did not enjoy Ruffalo's performance. I was sad it wasn't Norton, and he made me really happy they dropped him. I thought he was fantastic.

    I thought he was amazing.

I can't really think of any part of the movie that I didn't love.

I heard there will be about 30 minutes of extended footage when it finally comes out on DVD. Can't wait!

I have avoided this thread like the plague, but saw the Marvel Movie Marathon + midnight release of The Avengers last night.
It was awesome, the whole day was fun, but now I am dead of tired sleepiness.
As good as the Hulk ragdolling Loki was, Hulk's sideways punch on Thor after they took out that space turtle-snake thingy made me bust a gut laughing so hard.

My friends and I were giggling at the Bromance that was starting between Stark and Banner at the beginning

    And then at the end
When the Hulk caught Iron Man and saved him we just turned to each other and went "Awwwwwwww"

    Bromance. Full circle.

The way they had him coordinate everyone in the final battle was not only well done in terms of everyone having a useful part to play, it was really effective at conveying Cap's leadership & tactical abilities.

just FYI on people wondering what happened to norton

he was a fucking douchebag on set and didnt promote the movie at ALL afterwards.

so marvel basically said "fuuuck that, you suck to work with, well get someone else"

but im sure the feeling was mutual.

Yeah, Norton's ousting was totally his fault.

I cannot blame Marvel at all for wanting someone who would play nice with the ensemble cast

which obviously paid off in spades

Was anyone else bummed about the scene where Hulk catches Iron Man being in the trailers?

I felt like that would have been a much better moment had I known it wasn't coming

I wish he could have gotten over himself

    What? No.
They see Iron Man falling, Thor starts swinging Mjolnir like he's going to grab him, but then Hulk jumps up and catches him in an awesome moment

I just think it would have been even more awesome if we hadn't already seen that in the trailers

    Guys guys!
I think I had an idea for the best way Coulson could come back.

Valhalla. Have him drinking it up in Valhalla in Thor 2. That'd be so good.

    That is why

i thought it was just a run-of-the-mill bad review but no. what he's saying is that it was a good film and that's bad because it represents the evils of capitalism. woooow.

Maybe Jackson picked that one out specifically because of that? I dunno, I imagine if it was just a bad review he could've picked from a few.

    Seriously AVENGERS 2 SPECULATION SPOILERS:
Stark brings Coulson back as a robot with his mind patterns, thinking it is a totally nice awesome gesture

Coulson is freaked out because HOLY SHIT I AM A ROBOT and gets to do the whole mopey mopes Vision thing

his low point is when he can't do something simple and human like eat a sandwich

    he breaks down

    then

    Cap comes to him

gives him a pep talk about how it doesn't matter what kind of man he is physically, he will always be the same man on the inside.

then he gives him his set of trading cards, which he has signed.

    About our man Coulson.
There is a pretty good theory going around that he didn't really die. That they knew the team needed something to Avenge so they stabilized him and got him out of there. He see him close his eyes and medics swarm him and then there is a time cut.

The reason he's so great is that he's just a regular dude surrounded by superheroes, making him a superhero too kind of kills the point

I would prefer if he just faked his death like nightmarenny said

seems like Black Widow has had more love interests than any other heroine

I agree, but I think his popularity will make them make him a bigger deal in some capacity. The vision just kind of fits really well.
