I'm pretty thrilled with the Packers draft.

OLB Nick Perry - in the first was the best edge rusher left on the board at the time and he fills a big need.

DT/DE Jerel Worthy - was a first round talent player who slipped into the 2nd and we traded up for him. Also fills a big need for us.

CB Casey Heyward - was one of the few non-elite CBs in the draft who fit the mold our team targets. He's not the top-speed fastest but he can maneuver with the best of them. Great ball skills too which is a big emphasis for our CBs.

DE Mike Daniels - is an all right pick, he's a smaller Rush style DE, again a need.

S Jerron McMillan - He ran a 4.5 at the combine, which is terrible for someone at his position and of his size, but he ran a 4.3 at his pro day which is perfect.

LB Terrell Manning - He is a versatile LB that can be moved around a lot, perfect size to be able to do that as well so I can see him getting played at both ILB spots and OLB in some packages. He's not the most athletic by any means, and also has some knee concerns.

OT Andrew Datko - Apparently the only reason he fell to the 7th round is because of a shoulder injury that has popped up several times in his life. However, those who graded him said he likely could have been a 2nd round pick if not for the shoulder issue. With a 7th round comp pick it's little risk, big reward.

QB B.J. Coleman - He's funny looking, we needed a 3rd QB (he could pop up to #2) and I don't know much about him other than that he is super excited

Yeah, Datko was rated as a starter by Rivals/National Football Post. I wanted the Giants to take him in the 4th. Didn't know he fell to the 7th. That seems like a great pickup for GB

I'm pretty jazzed about the defensive pick ups. Most excited by the top three and Datko. McMillan as well.

Our safety coach praised McMillan's tackling, which is good. Because we can't tackle for shit.

Man, I can't wait for the season to start.

I'm excited to see how Tyson Jackson plays with a real nose tackle. He should have a break out season with Poe soaking up blockers.

So, what is the over under on how many games Peyton Manning will actually start?

Last I heard the over for Denver wins is 10 so at least that many starts.

I never understood the point of decaf.

I feel like it is saying I would like a cigarette, but no nicotine please.

KC met with A.J. Atogwe yesterday and Dallas Clark is in town tonight.

Clark would be a weird signing. Not sure where he'd fit in at.

    Leinart signs with the raiders.

Now they just need to trade for Sanchez, grab John David Booty off whatever couch he's currently sleeping on and draft Barkley next year to collect the whole USC set.

The supsensions come down hard...Vilma for the year, Hargrove 8 games Smith 4 and Fuijta 3

Also, the Bucs signed a paralyzed guy from Rutgers. Hard to tell if it's just a symbolic thing, or if they're gonna have him as part of the organization. Classy move regardless.

Its symbolic. He'll retire as a Buc and then go into broadcasting after graduating this month.

Very cool, and it reminded me who the coach of the Bucs was again, because when I read the headline it didn't make a lot of sense to me.

    from Deadspin, via TMZ:

TMZ now reports that cops suspect that Seau committed suicide, and that he sent "Love you" text messages yesterday to his ex-wife and children. So, so sad.

Deadspin also notes he is the 8th member of the 1994 AFC Champion San Diego Chargers to pass. They did a story on this bizarre circumstance back in December http://deadspin.com/5867720/death-is-stalking-the-1994-chargers

If that's another suicide the NFL is gonna have splaining to do.

First Duerson, then the guy from the Falcons and now this. Freaking terrible.
