I've been messing with nethack again. The last time the obsession hit, I made a google docs spreadsheet for the prices of the various items. This time, I added a new sheet to keep better track of what does what on a given life; and to assist against mind flayers / amnesia and so on.
While it's fairly easy to alt-tab over and type "identify" next to the scroll when I divine it, I'd like to do a bit more. I went ahead and created a data validation list, to allow for a drop-down menu, but I can't find any information on restricting the contents of that menu. At the moment, if I have a scroll or potion that isn't identifiable by its price, I have to swap sheets and figure out, manually, what the options are. Which is kind of slow.
For example, there's a scroll in the shop that costs 150 gold. I type 150 into the spreadsheet for that scroll, and then click on the drop-down, at which point it displays only those scrolls which sell for 150.
Does that make sense? More importantly, is it possible?
