I've kitbashed a few warriors with bolters, and am in the process of mounting a turret to a landspeeder storm to use as an annihilation barge. Converted Dreads will make triarch stalkers, and I'm gunna make some floating LCVP (d-day landing craft) things for ghost arks.
Overlord to be
Wraiths to be something like mr-gutsys from fallout
So yeah.... what to do with stupid robot heads?

I guess that isn't exactly a quote.

All fear Nax the prophet
I'm pretty sure the same will go for the next edition, too.
The most feared kabal is known as Alpha Beta Gamma. They go on insane, drug-fueled rampages and strike without warning, blasting loud, soul-shattering music and riding on lavishly decorated skimmers. The party never ends for Alpha Beta Gamma.

They didn't say what happens to assault weapons. They might get to fire in the same turn you charge. This would make Tyranids relatively unique since just about all of their guns are assault.
I had an idea for a Dark Eldar Safari list. Bunch of guys in Raiders visiting backwater planets, shooting the locals, that kind of stuff.
But then I realized that's just a normal DE list.
Iz cuz he iz smrtr n fstr
Except Bjorn doesn't lead when he's up. He just tells stories, kills shit they point him at, and advises the Wolves. That said though, Dante would heed the fuck out of anything he has to say, I am certain.
I would imagine being in that dreadnought armor makes you a little weary and not exactly the sharpest tool in terms of tactics.
Getting back to the primarch dealies, I think it's pretty standard that Dante would lead being he's the oldest. Even if Logan and Marneus Calgar were around they would be fine with Dante leading (and have done so).
I think my favorite fluff is any of the fluff when the chapters come together for some reason, and like Nax I think armageddon is a prime example. I just wish I knew people who played demons and chaos so I could have a fluffy as hell armageddon apoc battle!

I think they might have meant giving them a stand-alone book was a mistake because of messing wih the release cycle for "yet another" SM book and having to maintain ongoing support for a list that was originally for a specific campaign book only.
Could also be that they aren't really popular enough to be self-sustaining, but I don't have numbers to support that.
That said though, the campaign book to full codex path could be a viable way to intro new species; say the Tau 'discover' them and add a few auxiliary units to the Greater Good for a campaign then, if they turn out super popular, put out a separate book with more variety.

However, I fucking love templars, they are cool. The only problem is my vanilla army will most likely be imperial fists so... yeah.
If they were a mistake, it was a really fucking good one.

4 glancing shots will kill my 250 point land raider? That seems pretty...bad. I'd like to think the rumor-mongers are just being cited wrong and it's "any result on the vehicle penetrating hit damage chart" and not "on any damage chart". I want to say vehicle wounds are a good idea, but it seems pretty flawed for how many points and dollars are invested into them.

What are your guys' thoughts on an apoc sized game with the caveat being: Only models with a weaponskill and drop pods are allowed.
This effectively limits it to infantry and walkers and allows drop pods since they are the least transporty of all transports (and drop pods are fun as hell in apoc).

You do realize I was just trying to start a conversation about it right? Which is why I used language that implied I was pondering the rumors validity, as opposed to a knee-jerk "oh my god! Sky is falling!" reaction.
About apocalypse: I think its a fine idea. It should be said though, for me half the fun of apoc is the massive amount of tanks you can throw down. Plus all the cool super heavies. I'd be hard pressed to play in an all infantry apoc game due to how long it would take and...well...no neat tanks.
What if there is no "glancing hit" table any more and hull points somehow affect the roll?
Like if it was 2D6-HP on a unified table from 2-12 or something, with all the usual modifiers for AP as well… and only a total of 8+ will wreck a vehicle in one hit?

Wounds might be cool, yo
Under the rumored system of hull points, that could still happen. From how I understand it, there is still an explode/destroyed result which instantly kills the vehicle.
Only you can now actually stun/shake a land raider to death on a turn with small arms fire which can glance (unless Rose's idea happens and we have entirely new tables).
Which is why I think there has to be more to the system than is being revealed. Just tacking on these hull points (as described currently) makes things like land raiders and Russ class tanks mighty glassy.
Make the other team sit there as I move hundreds of worthless infantry on the first turn, then they sit as I pick up the dozens that get blown up by blast weapons/ordnance
Just a whole lot of sitting around
Very true. I was actually thinking of necrons specifically, who would never have to fear vehicles between this (as described!) and scarabs. I was also thinking of things like melta and plasma. Which would be quite awesome at just pinging things for a glance and a hull point. Which is ultimately fine by me, the idea of a multimelta slowly shooting down a tank at Max range is really ok. I'll just be displeased when my dread goes down to heavy bolter fire in a turn.
Although it occurred to me that this would let flamers and heavy flamers really do a number on vehicles.
All speculation of course. I just find the mechanic idea interesting.
I smell sarcasm....
I Spent 90% of my Money on Women and Warhammer. The Rest I Wasted.
My impression of the Wolves attitude toward Bjorn is that they value him far too much to put him into combat for any reason short of the destruction of the chapter being at stake. And my impression of Bjorn's attitude is that he is still scorned and upset about being left behind, and really only speaks of those times because his brothers need to hear the stories of Russ.
I lol'd.
All this chitchat is getting me pretty stoked for 6th. I'll be pleased as long as it moves things a bit away from rhino/melta spam.
Agreed. It will be nice to see flamers and heavy bolters on the field again. I'm just really hoping that this is hinting at a better system for vehicle durability, and not a swing in the opposite direction. Where vehicles are rendered moot.
I have a dream. Where little land raiders and little ravagers can both play in the same field. Where a game is not so defined by how many meltas and lances you brought. I have a dream where I can equip a squad with a heavy flamer and actually find it useful!
