I swear if TLA had had a higher rating they'd have gone through with Katara killing that guy.
I think she would have learned the same lesson she learned without killing him, might even have learned it more poignantly, and it would have given Aang the chance to be even more right.
I don't wanna kill anybody. I don't like bullies. I don't care where they're from.

If she were willing to go through with it, she'd be Jet.
The whole point of that little mini arc was her making the choice not to go down that road, and become that kind of person.

I agree she's not that kind of person, but considering how close she got I wonder if in a higher rated show she would have done it and immediately regretted it.

it would have been interesting either way even though the self-control makes her a stronger person during a critical moment toward the end of the series
and omg the moment that she stops the rain is just so perfect

Katara always struck me as the more dangerous of the Water Tribe siblings, and I don't mean because of her waterbending. Sokka was the one with all the warrior trappings, but I felt like if you pushed both of them, Katara was the one who would snap first and do some heinous shit to you.
I don't wanna kill anybody. I don't like bullies. I don't care where they're from.
And yet in that episode there's such a neat wrinkle.
Iroh sends Zuko a knife from the front, engraved with some wonderful heroic motto.
He sends Azula a doll. Which she promptly burns out of frustration.
Iroh knows the last thing Azula needs is a knife
But it also shows he doesn't understand her at all.
I wonder if one reason she drew close to Ozai, apart from him deliberately cultivating her, was because Ozai was willing to cater to her interests more than anyone else in her family. Azula was never going to be a proper lady.

Oh, now you tell us.
Thanks for wasting our time, Katara.
And Toph's absolute perfect delivery of "Oh no, what a nightmare!"
Aang's nod when Zuko's Actor says "I thought you were the Avatar's girl!"
hilarious
this is amazing

No.
Is my opinion.

all "fuck you son, don't you dare try to take this from iroh"
this guy isn't cool at all
fuck you too
hey bugs
you are the first born son and all
what I am saying is
I am going to take your birthright and become Bug Lord

Agni kai!
Agni kai!
Delightful
so in the first episode of korra there was that tease about zuko's mom
so we never get to find out what happened?
WHAT THE HELL
welcome to my nightmare
but azulon died and named ozai the firelord
and the only way that would've hapened is if ozai forged the will or something because azulon sure as hell wasn't having any of that
he probably killed azulon too
so where did zuko's mom go, if ozai didn't have to pay the forfeit?
??????
DO YOU KNOW HOW MANY ANTS THERE ARE IN THE WORLD
they go into more detail about zuko's mom in season 3
they just also very deliberately leave some things open-ended about what happened and that's what the joke is about
