So Wes Anderson, the director who was the inspiration for instagram, has a movie coming out on May 25, called Moonrise Kingdom, and it looks pretty damn good

Set on an island off the coast of New England in the summer of 1965, MOONRISE KINGDOM tells the story of two twelve-year-olds who fall in love, make a secret pact, and run away together into the wilderness. As various authorities try to hunt them down, a violent storm is brewing off-shore -- and the peaceful island community is turned upside down in more ways than anyone can handle. Bruce Willis plays the local sheriff. Edward Norton is a Khaki Scout troop leader. Bill Murray and Frances McDormand portray the young girl's parents. The cast also includes Tilda Swinton, Jason Schwartzman, and Jared Gilman and Kara Hayward as the boy and girl.
I love that cast, and i love movies of young love. And boy scouting was a good time back in the day. Tenderfoot for life.
Now Wes Anderson isn't everyones cup of tea, but thats ok! This thread is for those peeps that do like his movies.
his last movie was Fantastic Mr. Fox, which was all sorts of fun and featured a foxy george clooney clickin/whistlin away and being charmingly sexy (no furry)

His first movie was Bottle Rocket, which was pretty decent, but he first rose to prominence with the release of Rushmore, featuring Jason Shwartzman as a douchey asshole and bill murray as the put upon hero

then you had Royal Tenenbaums, another kickass movie about a fucked up family

my fave Wes Anderson movie is Life Aquatic With Steve Zissou. We all have dreamed of being marine biologists at one point in our childhood, right? Its surprising how affecting owen wilson was in this, considering he's always kinda blah in all his other roles. Also the soundtrack is the bestest, seu jorge is pretty great!

Then there's Darjeeling Limitied. Pretty cool, but i dunno, I was kinda burned out on his stuff at this point, though I do need to rewatch it soon

This guy is one of my favorite modern directors, although I'd really like to see him do something written by someone else for once.
I've got the Rushmore soundtrack
it's delightful
I walk into the theater and see one of my good friends sitting there, also by himself.
That was pretty cool.
only it's because I really identify with him
so I really hope I stop liking his movies before I get to be his current age

I know! I loved it so much.
My parents didn't want to go to see it, so my aunt and grandmother (who were visiting at the time) went with me out of pity. Unfortunately, they weren't really grabbed by it, though they thought it was decent.
Eventually, my dad did rent it from Netflix, and he and my mom watched it. My mom later told me that my dad just couldn't figure out why I liked it so much.
This seems less Owen Wilson's fault than his characters'. His character in Bottle Rocket was so unlikable that it actually made the movie less enjoyable for me.
Damn it Netflix, get on the ball
It is so incredibly beautiful in every way
Goddamn Wes Anderson
thoroughly enjoyed it
didn't feel as quiet as some of Wes Anderson's other movies

with my whole heart
"Basically every Wes Anderson film is either “Yep, that sure was a Wes Anderson film!” or “yep – that sure was a Wes Anderson film” and this one happens to mostly merit the exclamation mark."
I loved Motorbike Asshole.
And the scene with the arrow and the jump cut was amazing.
Why I fear the ocean.
In a film full of fantastic surprises, that was my favorite

I'll probably see it by accident on DVD months from now and think it's amazing or some shit
None of my friends liked Fantastic Mr Fox, I have no idea why.
