Going to repost this in the official chat.

Whenever I think of gameshows, I think of this old comic I read when I was, uh, young. 10? 11?

I want to say it was related to the Martian Manhunter; but it might have been about a Martian instead? Anyway, gameshows were rigged, and quite deadly.

They put a contestant in the booth, and when she failed to get the question right, they exploded her head.

And there was a rich kid (under 16) surrounded by a harem.

Not very sure how the Martian came into all this; I don't recall him ending the rigging or anything. He seemed really lost and confused. Possibly amnesia of some sort.

Is this ringing any bells? Anyone know what I might be remembering?

@Mazzyx Malaysia has substantial trade with Israel despite no diplomatic recognition; goods simply travel via Thailand and Singapore, and Singapore constitutes Malaya's historic port anyway so that's not a big change. In the meanwhile local politicians get to raise sound and fury over Palestine. There are no plausible geopolitical concerns regarding regional stability vis a vis Israel. Yet clearly trade links don't necessarily impair the ability of domestic politics to harp on foreign relations.

It's straightforward "so, about this corruption... LOOK! JEWS!" Whether anything is actually done regarding relations with foreigners and Israel is another matter altogether, it's just there to place a permanent conservative-leaning pressure on domestic politics for as long as Palestine resonates.
