I don't see much of a design difference beyond the change from the avengers triangle chest glow back to the circle. I really dislike that yellow, especially as the dominant color.

Sure that's not like a SDCC exclusive armor or something? You know, like what they do with the toys.

I need the blu ray out now. It's gone from the theaters in IMAX.

Also, I'm reading The Infinity Gauntlet for the first time. I'm not really into comic books. It seems many of Thanos's lines in the Zen Pinball Infinity Gauntlet table are ripped straight out of the series.

The sound of eight hooves reaches his ears, comes from the heavenly light, two wolves howls fills his heart with fear, and he sees two ravens fly. Down from the sky a warlord rides, like fire his one eye glows, and just before the preacher dies he knows his god is false.

Captain America 2 officially titled The Winter Soldier.

EDIT: And Thor 2 is Thor: The Dark World.

We knew Guardians was in the works, but not when and not for sure which team it would be.

And good timing, since starting next week I'll need something new to get insanely excited for.

Well, huh... With 'Winter Soldier' in the title, we can probably expect Russians. Maybe some more Black Widow.

Guardians of the Galaxy is out of the realm of my understanding of Marvel Comics. Given the integrity Marvel Studios has built for itself, I cannot tell you guys how STOKED I am to see something new AND be sure I'm not being mislead in seeing something misrepresented. Damn that's exciting shit.

I only hate that Captain America and Thor are so far away.

    More recent version.

Concept art (check the link above picture right above my post) shows Drax, Starlord, Groot, Rocket Raccoon, and Gamora.

I really liked how Cap originated in the film, justifying the goofy costume and using the original comics and the character the senator "formulated" as propaganda. Way to do the era.

i can't believe Rocket Raccoon is going to be in a Hollywood movie

I mean the cosmic Marvel stuff is pretty goddamn weird to begin with, so it's surprising that they would do Guardians of the Galaxy

these are characters most people have never, ever heard of

That, and having something powered by the same thing that keeps you alive is a bad move.

Also to expand on Mxmarks, it's less conceit and more guilt. He doesn't let anyone else use the suit because it's HIS problem. HE sold the weapons to so many people. HE screwed up. It's HIS responsibility to shoulder and weight to bare.

Well given the direction they want to go with Avengers 2 the guardians actually set up everything pretty well.

I'm sorry, but that can't be the real Rocket Raccoon in the concept art, the gun is much too small.

I want him firing a piece of artillery so large that Groot can barely shoulder the weight.

Love the look on Starlord and Gamora though.

Guardians is now the movie I am most looking forward to. I love that we will get to see Rocket on the big screen...I mean...whoever thought that was going to happen. He will be as big as RDJ as Tony Stark.

We'll get to see him and Peter quipping in real life...cannot wait.

It'd be like if BatMite showed up in The Dark Knight Rises.

Huge difference though, as Nolan has made it so that it would be hugely out of place for anything fantasy related to show up.

The Marvel movieverse on the other hand has already introduced aliens, men turning into hulking monsters, other worlds, men in robotic suits, cosmic cubes, and high science fiction. Is a talking raccoon going to be really that out of place? They have left the movieverse open for some out there ideas.

And thinking about it, the lack of any of the fantasy elements present in the batverse is one of the reasons that while I do enjoy his movies, I really cannot wait for Nolan to be done with Batman so that someone else can take over and introduce those things.

I want Clayface and a well done Mr. Freeze! :x

I'm so totally the wrong audience for this. My brain was in complete The Wire mode, where most of those gangbangers who got killed and maimed were once that black kid and then life and the system screwed them over. If it's not done by Quentin Tarantino with a sting in its tail, ultraviolent revenge completely rubs me the wrong way.

@jdarksun: Both Kill Bill and Inglourious Basterds subvert their own "hero gets revenge on villains" story in several ways, the latter perhaps more insistently than the former. Happy to write more, but it'll have to wait until tomorrow.

And 2014 give it plenty of time to be its own thing. But I'm kind of feeling a 'Marvel John Carter' vibe out of this. How are they gonna foreshadow this project in other movies and get the big audiences on board for this? Or will the Marvel Studios logo simply be enough now?

Summer 2018 will bring a movie where Doctor Strange and Moon Knight take on Fin Fang Foom while Vision and Scarlet Witch make a robot baby, and we'll all be like, "Meh. Foom's pants were the wrong color. They're more indigo than heliotrope. Whatever. This is boring."

I kind of liked how they did it in the Silver Surfer animated series, where Death was a statue that Thanos babbled at

also Thanos had a spaceship shaped like a giant skull

    man that show was rad
