Trained Hwarang Do for about 8/9 years, achieved black sash level, but wasn't legit enough to hand out degrees myself. I focused mostly on kicks, bladed weapons and tiny sticks, but I have much love for the joint locks and the chokes. I trained a bit of Muay Thai afterwards, mostly just for a martial arts workout. I'm looking to start Brazilian Jujitsu come September. Don't know my reach, but I don't give a fuck cause I set up punches with my sweet sweet front kick to the gut.
I've been at this one place for like... damn almost 3 years now. Not many people have been there as long as me.
My instructor is a bit odd, he only does promotions once a year. So its basically just what he's feeling in that season. I feel if I were friends with him, or more of a go-getter I'd have the belt by now. As it is I don't have too many friends in the club (many have come and gone since I've been training), and I feel my lack of willingness to push myself in front of the instructor for his attention/advice hurts me in this regard. I would like the belt, but I'm also pretty happy at being able to consistently beat all sorts of blue belts.

Black belts in both Karate and Tae Kwon Do, although I'd be hard-pressed to remember anything specific about either style given I was a young'n when I trained. They did give me a decent basis to transition over to contemporary wushu, which I did into high school. After that, I studied various traditional kung fu styles under the same sifu for several years. So basically I went from a McDojo to glorified gymnastics to old school martial arts. The first two phases put me in really great shape and taught me a lot of body control, flexibility, balance, etc. It wasn't until the last phase that I actually learned anything meaningful with regards to how to use it in a fighting context. That's not to say that I'm one of those "omg real kung fu would win in a real fight LAWL glass on the pavement no groin strikes?!?!" guys; there were definitely holes in the approach (as with any style), but my sifu was a Ranger in Vietnam and spent his last tour as an MP combat instructor, so he knew the difference between pretend fighting and real fighting. Throughout my life I've dabbled in other arts such as Aikido, BJJ, Muay Thai, etc. and had friendly sparring matches with friends and acquaintances, but would be lying if I said I knew anything than their most rudimentary basics and concepts. Been thinking about going back and training again in something more MMA-centric...

Did karate when I was a kid. Don't even remember what belt I got to. Played soccer for 12 years. Did wrestling for a while to help my brother train. As far as current things go, I trained at Team Quest for 4 months about a year ago and then ran out of money. Currently looking at a gym not to far from where I work that trained Nate Quarry and Chris Leben. Pretty good set up with a good gi/no gi BJJ instructor. Hoping to get in there in the next month or two and maybe take my first amature fight by the end of the fall.
The best way to trane UFC.

I find that match up odd.

Isn't that the Nick Diaz fansite that spread slanderous remarks about Braulio to defend their headcase mancrush?
Or have I got them mixed up with someone else?
but yeah it's the guy who really wants some diaz dick
In fact, here's proof that Nick Diaz is awesome. They gave him a $300k bonus just to show up to a press conference! http://www.bloodyelbow.com/2012/5/30/3053297/ufc-nsac-nick-diaz-bonus-suspension-fine
Hilarious fighter name incoming!

Jon Jones is a fine person for the UFc to sponsor. Drunk driving combined with cheating on his fiancee, who is also the mother of two of his children.
even if we don't like the guy it's still super fucking douchey

A little maybe since he presents himself as a very Christian-living person. I mean, it's his business, but things like this and the DUI do not reflect well on his self-portrayal.
None of us are as rad as we say ofc.
TylerJ on League of Legends (it's free and fun!)
Also nice to know that his previous suspended license thing was dropped almost seems like a DWB charge with lack of prosecution.
It doesn't bother me personally as far as his morals go. I don't use fighters as role models, so he can do whatever he wants.
I think it's more that he presents himself one way and then does other things, not necessarily that he does those things in the first place. His fake attitude is more annoying than what he does to counteract the fake attitude, at least to me.
