I really really like the SPAS 12. The 870 isnt for me for some reason, and I used to really like the M1014 before the buffed it, I havent used it in ages. The Saiga is alright.

Armored Kill needed to come out a month ago. DICE really needs on the speed of their content delivery. Waiting 3 months for a few maps and having game patches take that long or longer needs to be changed.

I'm just fine with their current content schedule (or even a slower one) if the content was something that would be played. Close Quarters seemed to die about a month and a half after it released, so now we're back to playing basically only the original maps. They're not bad, but they're something like 10 months old now. Call the duration of CQ 2 months and then we've been playing the original maps for 8 months.

Of course, their patching schedule is awful, and needs to be cut by an order of magnitude on the PC.

I haven't had any problems getting on to CQ maps in Australia, at any given time there is at least 7 full CQ servers with different player counts (which is a lot for Australia).

I find it a lot harder to get on a 'normal' server that isn't ruined by playing with stupid rules or 2000 tickets.

i had a lot of fun with CQ but i've played my fill and I'm really enjoying getting a couple squads together most nights for big maps. If people are playing it I'm down otherwise I'll be looking for a big server. Speaking of I'm about to join That Guy on ze lizard lounge. You should too.

Going back to shotguns, I moved onto the next shotgun I wanted to get to 100 kills; the MK3A1. I can't speak for anyone elses tastes but this gun is great! I just can't help killing people with it, and unlocked the service star in TWO matches!

The SPAS is the best shotgun if you're accurate. The 870 has the highest damage potential per shot. The M1014 is the most well rounded and the Saiga has the fastest from-empty reload as well as a large magazine.

It's preference. They're all really good.

I'm finally getting a new gaming pc in about a month. This is one of the games I'm hoping to pick up but I have no idea if it's too late for a newbie to hop in. Would it just be an exercise in futility at this point?

There's no reason to run the 870 with slugs over the SPAS. They have the same damage values with slugs, but the SPAS fires significantly faster.

Yeah I'm an Aussie too and you're spot on. They just seem to be a dearth of really fucking stupid rules happening on servers at the moment or they're all 24/7 64 1000 ticket Metro.

Like, I was playing TDM Noshar the other day and I got kicked for using the PDW. Apparently it's an OP weapon and banned from the server??

Armored Kill can't come out soon enough. I tried playing a few rounds tonight. All the vanilla and B2K maps are old and worn out at this point. Every CQ server I joined was either a 64 player meat grinder or had next to no one in it and had terrible rules or had way too many tickets for how few players it was. Seriously, there is no reason to have 500 tickets on a 16 player server, especially when it's not even full. I got moved from a team in one because I wasn't in their clan. They then spent the whole round camping. I was half tempted to ask them how their quick scope videos were coming.

Blendtec why are you not on my friends list? I know we've played together cause i smoked you out of a choppa. Also why exactly do you find the old maps stale? I played the fuck out of CQ and I've had a ton of fun the past few days playing the older, bigger maps. That is, I've had a ton of fun when I was in a PA squad. Had some fucking epic teamwork moments with That Guy and Satsumomo, sick rezzes from Ruro, just having a lot of fun. I also did something to my sound effects or my headphones and my game sounds crazy good now. Everything is terrifyingly loud and the game just feels really good right now.

I think I just got burnt out on the old maps because I played like crazy when I first got the game. B2K maps I sunk hundreds of hours into with BF2. I do miss shooting mans though.

I'm at work, so as much as I'd like to play, well I can't. Blendtec, you should just play a few rounds with us, that feeling you've got seems to be heavily affected by retarded servers.

I'm at work right now, but honestly my BF3 time is going to be drastically cut back to just occasional lolrounds. Mechwarrior Online and Planetside 2 are going to do horrible things to my free time. Not to mention Guild Wars 2 dropping in a couple weeks.

Do you guys play on that Angry Dome server? Every time I check it, it's empty. Or do you guys just have each other on Battle Log and join random servers together?

We need at least 3-4 squads of our own guys to get a stream of pubs incoming to fill the dome. We don't usually get going until 7-9pm EST so getting the Dome going is usually not an option if anyone wants to really play. When Armored Kill comes out I could see us getting the Dome going again, but until then I doubt it which is quite unfortunate. Your best bet is to get on BattleLog and add people. They log in, join them, meet new PA people, etc.

Yeah I don't understand platoons at all. I'm a member of the 103rd and the colonel club. Every person I've added on battlelog is a person I played with or was in mumble. If you don't have mumble get that shit 'cause we use it and teamwork is vital.

Last time we tried getting the dome running with gunmaster. People will most probably not join a gunmaster game, specially one that is already running. We probably need to do it like old times: 64 CQ Metro

Fucking Origin cloud shit. A word of advice, if you don't want your key bindings & settings to be reset don't update from the cloud the first time it asks you.

I have no idea what my sensitivity was set at and now everything feels odd.

Speaking of wonky settings, why is it every time I change weapons, I end up with some weird shit like 7x scope, bipod and flash suppressor. Does it just pick random attachments if you change your weapon?
