I think if you're going to make claims about what 90+ hours of gaming are about, you have to defend it better than just interpret the ending with a single reference to anything that came before, and that an offhand one to the first minute. Also Kana is the Citizen Kane of mocking Citizen Kane jokes.

Here's some firing range footage of the new quarian rifle and Blood Pack SMG (which has a skull on the side +40 radical points), by someone who loves to reload. You can't really tell how effective they are because the firing range targets have like zero health but whatev.

Those are pretty painful to watch. I've got 68 shots in the mag, let's see it in fully auto! Nope. I'm just going to fire 5 shots and then reload. Over and over.

Except the Reeger. Anyone can empty out a Reeger.

I saw the Indra in those videos. Is that already in the base game, or does it come in the DLC pack? My first ME3 playthrough was Infiltrator, so I dunno how I would've ignored the Indra if its in the base game...

It was from a 'DLC' keys giveaway for some Alienware promotion. All you had to do was sign in if you had an account with them and get one early on. Most people who tried it didn't really like it in single player, though. Considering many players had the Valiant to start with, I can understand that stance.

You know I didn't care for the Hulk's critique and I think a lot of it is predicated on an assumption I'm not sure is right. He seems pretty assured that the ME writers and producers did exactly what they wanted to do and the original ending is what they wanted - I've been under the impression that they simply ran into a deadline and had to slap an ending on the game. If the ending was Bioware's pure vision of how the trilogy should end, then when the fans started collectively complaining wouldn't they be inclined to just explain what their intention was? You know, instead of spend lots of money on making new cinematics and paying voice actors just to give us more content for free. It's not like the multiplayer DLC, where they can make money off people buying packs. Of course the company's never going to just own up to giving a slapdash ending because of a deadline, but I also don't see them bending to the fans' will if they didn't kinda agree they had a point.

Aww, your faith in humanity is endearing, in that you believe that would work :) And I sincerely don't mean that to be condescending. I actually admire optimism.

I would argue that they did try, but they got shouted down.

Eh, I think if they tried it was to save face, rather than admit they kinda screwed up in the process of finishing the game.

As a "have", and a person that is capable of topping scoreboards regularly:

    1. It gets boring melting everything on a difficulty setting that's supposed to be hard and there are rational limits to intentional self-nerfing.

    2. It makes the game less fun because people are apt to do stupid things for no reason (AFK, get themselves killed by being hyperaggressive, or just outright cheat and exploit).

    3. A balanced game offers opportunity for varied play. Unbalanced weapons skew players toward particular builds and equipment, making the game monotonous. (See: Millions of adepts, then infiltrators, and now errybody has a piranha.)

That said, I use the the piranha on a lot of characters... I have a Typhoon destroyer too, and I wouldn't mind seeing that gun (piranha) get nerfed either. A cooperative game allows everybody to be able to contribute in some meaningful way. Unbalanced things go against the spirit of cooperative play.

Echoing what tastydonuts said. #3 is the biggest reason for me. Ideally every class would be able to contribute in some meaningful way; allowing classes to be chosen based more on play style rather than some classes being head and shoulders more effective. Also, I think it's great when a player like milk ducks can return to the game after some time off and start raving about how great the Human Sentinel or Human Adept is now. I think stuff like that is an indication that some of the balance changes are working.

This is pretty much the heart of the matter. An extension of this is that if you allow these things to fester - say the Piranha stays as the "best" gun in the game - then the "preferred" way to play eventually becomes the "only" way to play. PUGs are terrible and all but sometimes they're the only way to get a game in (bar solo-ing). It's bad enough when you kicked out of one for having an N7 score below 3,000 or whatever, I don't want people giving me shit because I'm not carrying a Piranha X on all my characters. Especially since I still haven't unlocked the damn thing yet.

This one is pretty useful. Per your example,
Mods that don't work on some guns:
    - The Shredder/Piercing mod won't do anything on the Geth Plasma Shotgun, Graal Spike Thrower, Kishok Harpoon Gun, Scorpion, Falcon, Striker, or Krysae. It is worth noting that the projectile on the Kishock is so large that it can actually hit Guardians through their shields.

It's easier to remember that as "guns that fire weird shit." Also note that to this day no one knows what the fuck inferno grenade shrapnel does, if anything.
