Our new Indie Games subforum is now open for business in G&T. Go and check it out, you might land a code for a free game. If you're developing an indie game and want to post about it, follow these directions. If you don't, he'll break your legs! Hahaha! Seriously though.
Our rules have been updated and given their own forum. Go and look at them! They are nice, and there may be new ones that you didn't know about! Hooray for rules! Hooray for The System! Hooray for Conforming!
I plan to buy a new power supply for my PC, as mine gave out last night. The graphics card I installed last year recommends a 400w PSU, so instead of replacing, I want to upgrade. I've never replaced a PSU, so I want to make sure I have all the connectors I need. My current power supply is a Bestec ATX 300 12Z, Rev: BD. It's 24 Pin, SATA capable, and has an attachment that I could hook up to my ATI vid card. What do I need to look for on the new power supply, to make sure it will plug in to everything I need it to plug into?
I'm partial to Silverstone parts, as they always have great reviews and provide excellent power. I have a ~400 watt model from several years ago, and the below will be my next purchase:
I currently have an Enermax in my main machine. I am pretty happy with it, although the 12v line does have a bit of bounce to it, and one of the fans is getting squeaky:
