So, I check my email today and discover that my Auto Assault account (created during the PA stress test back before it was released, and played for a total of 3 hours) has been reactivated for ten days.

Anyone else get a similar notification?

Yeah I got one too...on Friday actually. I also had a stress test account from the same thing you had.

I don't really care though, the game kind of sucked.

Yup. It's not even worth my time to redownload it really.

I feel kinda bad for them though.

I never really ended up bothering this one at all as I was balls deep in WoW at the time. What are the issues with it?

    It's Everquest.

    It's Everquest.
    ...with cars?

Or did they just remove the cars recently?

Everquest with cars and semi-destructible environments. But mostly Everquest.

They took the genre of car combat, a genre known for super-fast paced action and thrills.

Then they added loot and kill quest grinds. It really is like every other MMO except you're a car.

Auto Assault is the only MMORPG that I died at level 1 in*. I made my character, got some quest, then got owned when I went and tried to kill some mobs. I promptly uninstalled because it wasn't impressive enough to punish me so quickly.

*Aside from pressing A while trying to type something to an NPC in Everquest, anyway.

Got the email, not worth the time, etc.

I also had the weirdest graphics bug with this game. Half of the screen would randomly splinter into multi-colored shards of warped vision. I couldn't play for long with that.

It's their new proprietary graphics engine, codenamed "Shroom-O-Vision."

Client seems to hog a lot of resources still, for what it is.
Last time I played was in early beta, so I did actually give the 10-day free thing a go, got a couple chars up to 20, but realised there was no real point to it - the PvP isn't good enough to warrant my paying monthly.

Oh, it was very pretty, very funky.

    Just not playable.

Also, having my character be a fucking car wasn't as much fun as I hoped. Knight Rider MMO...anyone?

Clusterfuck of epic proportions. Every wrong gameplay design imaginable was made.

I played a free-trial of this once. There were five people on my server at peak-time.

Take away the MMO part of it and streamline the gameplay and it might be half-fun.
