I have seriously never heard anyone called Saz or Sazzah before.
Probably because all the Sarahs I know aren't quite that Australian.

Definitely Shaz or Shazzah for Sharon though.

See I don't get nicknames that take longer to say than the original name. Shaz and Saz are good, catchy names. Shazzah though? You may as well just say Sharon and save yourself some zeds as the English would say.

this has been discussed at LENGTH between me and every Australian I have ever met

the conclusion is always that I don't "get it"

There are nicknames that are shortenings and then there are nicknames that are just nicknames.

Actually barring Sand/Sands (which doesn't bother me) and Sandy (which I don't like but whatever), all of my nicknames are more syllables than my actual name.

(Koreans in general are really good looking though, popularity of plastic surgery aside. It has given me quite the complex.)
