This is one of the big reasons I got into covert operations in Eve. It gave me the opportunity to work alone or in small, tight knit groups where these things were less of an issue.
When I quoted this to a friend who plays EVE (I do not), he responded:
Ha.
"Align to t-a. Align. Align align. Do not warp. Only align." *20% of fleet warps off*
What does any of this even mean? :eh:

Warping is how they travel between points in a system.
To warp automatically you just click warp and your ship turns to it and warps.
In a big fleet of multiple ships of varied ship sizes this means they all turn at different speeds, so the smaller faster turning ones get there way ahead of the slow ones and your fleet gets chewed up.
So you align the whole fleet first without warping (I forget how you do this, it's been a while since I played) and then all of you warp on the signal so you arrive as one big pile of oh fuck they're all here.

(PSN: Morninglord) (Steam: Morninglord) (WiiU: Morninglord22) I like to record and toss up a lot of random gaming videos here.

Right click on the point and just hit "Align To." It's super easy to do and yet so many people just totally cock it up. Alternatively, you have the fleet align to the gate and then have everyone throttle up so that when the order to jump is given, they all immediately go into warp because they're at speed and pointed in the right direction already.

Communication problems are a norm for human beings tog buddy. That's why the military uses so much redundancy. English is actually a terrible language for communication in time sensitive situations.
Any commander that doesn't intrinsically know this thing and try to compensate for it is lacking. There's no point raging against the inevitable.

That's what clear comms, repeating the order, and everyone having the designated voice program is for. There are things done to mitigate the issue but some people are just idiots and you're right, there's no point raging at them. However, that doesn't mean I can't just kick them out of the fleet either.

You'd be amazed at how idiotic I am when I'm first learning a game.
Some people learn slower than others.
Personally, I'm always up for drills in any cooperative, competitive multiplayer game, but nobody ever wants to do them, even though that's how you turn a rag tag group of people into an efficient unit.
Most mmos just go for the ol kick anyone who doesn't learn instantly route.
But I disgress. And I'm not really arguing with you anyway.

Generally most PVP corps are big on training ops precisely because of this. Null Sec corps are generally encouraged to do small gang ops to break people in. Hell, I remember being in Tier 1 ship drunk ops just to get people loosened up for when the serious shit is going down. However, some people just don't learn and there's really nothing wrong with booting them because some people just can't be helped. When it comes to PVP on that level, you can't have someone screwing your ops up just because they can't follow simple instructions.
Booting someone from a casual PVP op is just being a dick cause yeah, how else do people learn than to actually go on ops and make mistakes? But there's being a rookie and then there's just being an idiot and some people just do not learn, ever.

That's quite a different attitude to the one you first espoused. It's one I understand perfectly. But yeah, pretty different!

TL;DR, Things are moving along, Early Access is "soon"
I really like the idea of traits. One of the things I loved about Fallout 2 was getting some of those special actions and activities that would give you perks. Like training with a martial arts master to get your unarmed and melee up or slings a massive amount of bullcrap to get your speech up....really should have installed a mod for that in in the new games and skyrim.....
But yeah, this would make me happy in this glorious game.

The homeworld is too strong for me to see anything else, but I didn't really play a lot of eve online so probably I don't know what you are talking about anyway.

Also wooo, he's working on traversing systems via gates!
I'm part of that 90% lol
When I quoted this to a friend who plays EVE (I do not), he responded:
That's a bad FC right there. Never ever use the word "warp" unless you want them to warp. Sometimes this:
"Align to t-a. Align. Align align. Do not warp. Only align."
sound like this:
""Align to t-a. Align. Align align. *bark bark bark* warp. *bark bark bark*."
Yeah, it's like why five tends to be skipped when doing a countdown because it sounds like fire and people are dumb.
That's one of the reasons why you should pronounce 'five' as 'fife' over a radio.
